New coil sag?

I'm putting a new set of coil springs on my '72 and will most likely be cutting them to get the stance right. How quickly (and how much) do new springs sag, or do they?

I don't want to cut them and have them settle 2 more inches a week later. That would be a drag.

mine have never sagged more then 1/4 to 1/2" MAX after about 8 years

Ditto. I've never had them settle much at all.
