Anybody have any ideas or tips to offer to me. Im usualy over in 4.6 talk/tech with my 96 GT. This is my first Fox I have owned. So I dont know these to well so any advice will be greatly appreciated.

oh yeah! lol i forgot about that. mine left me stranded only once coming to school cuz of the timing belt. change it as soon as you can. gave me a scare when it snapped off. but mine was the original timing belt from 93 lol. it was cracked everywhere

Not a bad snag, though I could think of quite a few other cars that I would rather have for a DD. As much as I would love to always drive a Mustang in some form regardless of the purpose or the price of gas, I can definitely say that I'd prefer my $2000 Volvo over a 2.3 Mustang. Leather, heated seats, moonroof, 4-doors, a real trunk, etc etc etc AND a 5-speed, still getting 25mpg, which is about all you will see with that 2.3. The fact that it is a Mustang, RWD and 5-spd all together is nice to have, but I like some comfort in my DD as well. That and 88hp would make me want to hang myself. I have had 2 different 2.3 Mustangs, but both have had turbos. But who knows, maybe I am just getting old...:nice:

Well its getting 30mpg cause the guy b4 me did a few things.....there is an electric fan now. The reason I got it is because I LOVe notch's and will eventually one day do the swap but as for now its getting me to school and work.

oh then he wiried it in ghetto. its a switch under the dash and you have to turn it on manually, it works even if the key is out.

itd be funny if they were clutch fans cause the stump connecting the fan to the belt system would be about 8" long. haha.

only thing that would make this car get better mpg than other 2.3's out there is that theres no smog pump, ac pump, PS pump, or evap system. it was all gutted. we can get sticker slaps though. theres all of 3 things on the belt system of this car. crank. alt. and i guess the idler?

Meh ... manual steering ain't so bad, just so long as you're driving on a car with an actual manual rack n' pinion; trying to drive one that's simply had the lines of the power rack capped off makes it a LOT harder to turn (I guess because it's internally geared different). Never had any problems with the Geo Metro or Honda CRX I had with manual steering, anyway, and it was one less thing to be leaking fluid all of the time, so...

thats why i wanna rip of my AOD on the 2.3 and replace it with a t5. Way too many hassles. its giving up on me already. Slips like a mother, and im forced to drive it till its doom! :fuss::dead:

but when that does happen, im gladly going to make some crazy ass sculpture out of the housing and gears ect. and then ill do a t5 swap.
