Who needs filters in the first place? They just get in the way of the air, right? Yank that sucker out!

Front bumper? Headlights? Doors? Decklids? Hoods? Fenders? Windows?... hell everything other than the engine and drivetrain. They all weigh a ton, and don't add horsepower... get rid of em! Plus taking off your bumper and headlight would give you some awesome direct ram-air.

Then strip the interior completely. All but the driver seat... screw it, Even take off the seat cover! That would save you some poundage. You'd be hitting some great ETs then. :nice:

Actually, the headlight removal does produce more of a positive air pressure condition in the fender well, which helps the "push" air into to air induction. This is effect is reduced/voided if you are not using an in-fender air filter or if you have removed the silencer (silencer is a bit of a misnomer. It is designed to pull cooler air from the fender well.).

Air silencer is restrictive, period. Id rather have more air and it be a few degrees warmer.

I never tried the headlight removal but i imagine it could help a little.
There are plenty of air gaps and miscellaneous openings for air to flow thru to get to the in-fender filter. You don't need to increase the size of any of them.
Bingo!

You laugh...but I almost got embarassed at the track over the summer by a teal civic hatchback that was completely stripped. By completely stripped, I mean only driver seat, gauge cluster, and pedals left on the interior. He only had motor bolt ons (no power adder) and ran a 13.7. I say almost got embarassed only because we never raced at the same time. I was running 14.0, so i probably would have gotten embarassed.
