New Here Shuddering In Rear

Ok, this is not going to be easy to resolve.
First, yank that drive shaft off, take it to a shop that does driveshaft balancing, have the u joints replaced and the shaft balanced. Check your snout that slides into the trans tailshaft for play.
Take a peek at your motor mounts, also check your control arm busings, upper and lower.
This could be coming from your trans but I would eliminate the driveshaft first.

That's a classic torque converter shudder symptom. Usually, it happens between 40 and 45mph.

It's actually very common in early v6 sn95 cars. A friend of mine has one that's been doing it for the last 15 years, and he drives it everywhere. His car does it bad enough to shake the whole car. He's constantly on the highway up and down the east coast.

From a mechanics standpoint I say get it fixed...if it was my car I'd....get it fixed. A good trans shop could diag it for you so you know for sure

Thanks guys. I was thinking about doing the ujoints. Probably can't hurt and is cheap!
Now I did forget to mention something...
I know...I wasn't thinking.
When I put the car into drive it takes a few seconds to engage. But it does shift nice.
My buddy called me earlier that's why I added the torque converter to my post.

He told me to do a complete drain even the converter. And replace with Dex3/Mercon. He also said to add
Dr. Tranny instant Shudder Fixx, and
Lubegard 60902 Tranny protectant. He said it really does work.
I don't want to switch to the synthetic fluid. Everytime I do I end up with leaks everywhere. That's been on multiple vehicles. But I did read thst some switched to Mobil Mercon V? And it fixed it?
I was on amazon and was reading reviews, way too many. And I do see the same thing with the 40mph and up shutter is usually torque converter and those two products fixed it.
I'm sure it's a temp fix..but a few reported year later, no shuttering. I usually don't like snake oils. But my fluid is medium colored so I wanted to change it. I only checked a Ton of amazon reviews because it cane up.first when I punched the products in.

I read on another post that when this TC shutter happens. You can change a solenoid somewhere. That is sometimes the issue?

Sorry. Lot of questions in one post.

Also 90sickfox....hes been driving that long with it doing that? I think I am too paranoid. Im worried about damaging something.

Okay shuttering gone! I drained the converter and the pan. I found the filter laying in the pan. Unless I knocked it loose when removing the pan..but I don't think so.
Anyhow, I replaced with Mercon V.
Added the Dr. Shutter Fix and Lubegard protection.
Went for a ride and it did it for a split second and then stopped.
I put about 12 mile on it and it never did it again.
I know this is probably a temporary fix?
But even if it works for a few months I know it was the torque converter now. So I will know what needs replaced when it comes back.
I did end up over filling when I checked it today. Ugh!!
It's about 1/4 inch over the hot full line when running.

I havent taken it apart yet to see what it looks like. But I found this on Oreillys.
That's if they actually have them in stock or can get them. Advance auto had stuff on their website before and then tell me they cant get the part. I think this may be the part.

Hey bud, Let us know if that fixes the problem cause i have the same issue. I gotta a 99, originally was a v6 but last year. I swap it out with a 95 5.0. Eng and aut.trans. But i left the original diff. And i'm thinking that vibration is coming from there. But after reading this post i'm notso sure about it. Thanx in advance

I posted above. It worked. It was the lockout converter. I know I will have to replace it eventually. But at least it was a good diagnosis. It may last year that way but that stuff added to it. There's my original post. You might have just missed it. Honestly I really thought it was my rear end causing the issues but it wasn't. It sure felt like it.
