new intake for engine buildup

ok, so i have the victor jr heads on my engine and today i bought the victor jr intake, figuring that it should match nicely. I was wrong, the ports on the heads are considerbly bigger on the heads than they are on the intake. the gaskets that i have fit the intake fine but when i put them up to the heads they are to small. is this how it should be?? i would imagine that it wouldnt restrict flow going to a bigger port or is there a different intake that should match those heads better?

If it bothers you, grab an air grinder and port-match it to the heads. Most intakes are made to fit stock & aftermarket heads. and they just pick a port size, which may not be that of your particular heads.

im not an expert on this at all but i thought about doing that and was wondering what good would it be to match the port size if the runners on the intake are the same size all the way up??
