I just got my H&R Super Sport springs, caster/camber plates, and Bilstein struts/shocks installed today at Chicane Sport Tuning, what do you guys think of the drop? I feel some difference in handling, do you guys recommend anything else for a close-to-Mercedes like handling?

After (with H&R Super Sport springs):

How long have you had your prokit now? Did it settle in anymore giving you an extra drop?

if you are wanting mercedes handeling then I would have gone with the race over the SS, but thats just me. to get more out of it i'd go with the MM XL full length subframe connectors next. follow that with their panhard rod, or the Evoltion motorsports Watts link (either will be great, just depends on money), then get the MM Torque arm or the evo trilink (both are great pieces from what i have read)

I myself will have nearly the identical system as you here shortly... though i will have the race springs, and be getting the MM panhard rod and the evo trilink to wrap up my suspension with the XL subframes, and possibly the Evo spider front tower brace.

after that you cant get any better without dumping in a LOAD more money for coilovers, kmember and A arms and an IRS swap. but honestly, even stated by Evo and MM themselves, going with all that would only be needed for a track car, and even then the above listed as my recomendations will only be slightly off what a full setup can do.

you have a SOLID foundation, very good job in choices. TA or Trilink, and a Watts or PHB, get some lower control arms and wrap it up from subframes. if you need more then that then you really need to bench against a Merc then as i know you would be encroaching on porsche in the handeling department.

Nice. The Club is a nice touch! That looks low. Why would you want Mercedes like handling? Road racing? Or you doing the pop lockin' thing?

Most Mercedes' handle like crap. You want M3 handling. www.maximummotorsports.com . You need new lower control arms if you don't have them.. After you've done that, look into a panhard bar. If you went with a Torque Arm you'd have to get new rear springs.

Nice, drop is great. I have a similar setup, with the H&R's and Tokico Hio-Performance shocks and struts w/ Steeda Caster Camber plates. I also added soem KB Supersubs to stiffen it up a bit and it worked. Great combo you will love it. Now just ditch the wing and shave the "GT" emblems and throw a power adder and your done.

PS, dont forget the Speedster tonneau cover.

I'm not doubting you BUT geez, don't jump over the small important things.

Rear swaybar (Definate MUST - greater handling feel)
LCA's
Stock UCA's with MM Bushings
Front Swaybar Bushings
Tie Rod Ends
STB

i can feel the ride a bit bumpier than before, is that natural for new lowered springs? can i smoothen this out with lower control arms (don't know what this is), and a panhard bar?

Bumpy ride = lowered car. You might wanna learn how to drive it now ie avoid big bumps and such I had plenty of exp from my lowrider days. You should be in benz terriortory now.
I pushed an m3 (real one this time)through the corners coming into work this morning. and all I have is SFC, and prokit springs on stock 17" ers.

a mustang isnt going to handle in the german car territory that easily...theres a lot of things suspension wise that companies have to offer. shop around www.maximummotorsports.com webpage try to pick up on a few things. the springs you put on should settle in a bit and drop some more...after that get a front end alignment. good luck.

and :OT: theres not a thing u can do to put yourself in m3 territory. sorry, whoever that was cant drive or wasnt pushing their car near its potential. ive been in quite a few with both stock & minor suspension work ive never imagined a car could stick to the road like that; in....sane

LCAs were touched on briefly at the very end. after re-reading my post i noticed where i intended to make them a main point but apparently lost my thought process. UCAs are not needed if he ends up going with the trilink or the TA as both pieces remove the UCAs all together. Front swaybar bushings are a good choice but not as needed as fixing the rear of the car.

The STB is a good choice as are the tierod ends, but like the swaybar bushings are not as needed till the balance of the car is attained. Though i did mention that i myself was getting a STB, the necessity of one has been in much dispute over quite a long time when added to a car with a modified platform.

the rear swaybar is possibly a good choice, however i am not convinced of this, and that is why i have left it out. being that the panhard bar alters the roll center i am beginning to think that the lower rear swaybar is adequate. i will however be looking into getting an UPPER rear brace as i think that with this addition the lower will have no issues at all.

these are just my observations, of course, and are based on the platform that i choose to have as my end result. i have heard that swaybars and bushings are a massive improvement on the stock suspension, but are outweighed once the suspension gets into the upper spectrum. you are entitled to your view, which you stated. and i stated mine. we just have differing thoughts of importance.

After Chicane Sport Tuning installed my springs, caster/camber plates, and shocks/struts, they did an alignment already. Do I need to do another alignment after the car settles in?

Sorry, I'm not too suspension literate, but what are LCA's, STB, and UCA's?

Also, is there anything I can do to my car to make it feel smoother? I know that lowering my car sacrifices ride quality, but is there anything I can do to make it a bit better?

LCA = Lower Control Arm
UCA = Upper Control Arm
STB = Strut Tower Brace

Most of the time you'll need another alignment after the springs settle. As for improving ride quality, a good set of shocks and struts would give some improvement. Since you already have the Bistens, that's probably the best ride you'll get.

I had my car alined right after my install and the tiers wore just fine.

I would get subframes for sure. Lower control arms for sure.

I have the same setup as you with MM spherical rear control arms, full length subs. A guy at work as 98 328IS. His car rides smoother but as far as entry speed into corners and things the cars are about the same now. I mean I can hit 25mph off ramps at 60mph without going into a four wheel slide now.

I may add the panhard bar and torque arm later but I am content for now.

I will say the subframes and cortrol arms added another dimention to the handling of the car.
