So I'm sort of new to the forums, I had an old a few years back, and I just bought a 2003 GT Centennial Vert. And I absolutely love everything about it.

I bought it with 38,000 miles on it, so it is in pretty nice condition but the previous owner didn't really do much to it (maintenance wise, stock tires, stock brakes, everything was stock)

I just put in cross-drilled rotors, and hawk pads, changed to oil to RP, with a K&N filter, and of course gave it a n sixer ice clean, Meguiars compound and tech wax 2.0.

I'm hoping to get as much help from you guys as possible since you have been around these cars more than I have and have definitely done more to them!

What other maintenance should I do to it.

Now more to the important first tiny mod, CAI.

I usually buy my stuff from American Muscle, but I know there are a lot of brands and models for CAIs. BBK, K&N, C&L, Airraid, Steeda, AFE, Stack, and Ford Racing...

Which one and specific models, (links would be great) that you guys recommend for this?
 
If you are looking at cai's,go with JLT.Stay away from metal style ones,they soak heat big time!Metal ones are fine if your the guy that is dragging at the strip where short blasts are fine which doesn't allow the intake tube to get hot,but in the city with stop,and go traffic,the metal tube gets hot,and traps the hot air in the tube.Kinda defeats the purpose of the term cai.

In reality yes,but the metal tubing still gets hot from the engine compartment.That is where most of the heat is coming from,and the intake tube gets "heat soaked".Also the bend from the fender to the MAF has been known to create a little turbulence before the MAF.The right way to have the fender mon=unted one is to have the MAF in front of the bend in the inner fender,just like how JLT does there fender mounted one.

K&N drop in or JLT if you just have to have a CAI. Get the one that puts the maf in the fender well.

Get rid of the RP as soon as possible - total JUNK! Replace with Mobil 1 and Motorcraft filter.

yes sir!!! thats what i use, good combo,

however i was reading somewhere that the mobil 1 synthetic is actually not fully synthetic, they can put that on the bottles because they won some lawsuit to where they could state that it was full synthetic just by the process that they used to purify the oil, but im not too sure on this, however i do remember reading it a couple years back.

Why the RP? I heard its good stuff and read a lot about it, where I live I can't find Redline or Amsoil.. and Mobil 1 isn't full synthetic :jaw:

Buy AMSOIL online, or just use Mobil 1. I don't care if it's technically fully synthetic or not, Mobil 1 performs and test prove it.

That air is moving way to fast for heat soak to even matter, if the air was trapped and standing still then yes. CAI, are just for aesthetics, drop in filter and you stock tube. Or you can do the preventitative maitanance mod! Some of the hard stuff you will not need to replace till another 100,000 miles, just food for thought!
 
Here is something...might be from a couple years ago....but so are our cars.

Oil Test

Anyone who uses the word "aint" in a so-called scientific study loses all credibility in my book. Exactly how is this test supposed to test the oil in any way that even remotely resembles the actual environment that the oil sees? Who operates their car at room temperature?
