What do you guys think of a sub forum for Tuning? All the Tweecer, PMS, FAST, ACCEL users can help with tuning.

Also I want to have TPS, Idle, IAC questions in here as well. Dyno numbers should also be put in here so users can see what combo makes what HP.

Check engine light questions, MAF's, codes all in here.

What else should we put in here? I need your thoughts.

Sounds good, but will it be a 94-95 thing or an everyone jump in and help thing? Cause if it's #2, I really think it would be better.

Joe, I wondered the same - will it be a child forum in in 94-95 Tech, or a whole new sub-forum?

On the other hand, it would make the 5.0L SN95 tech section even smaller (it is nice to compartmentalize these things, but if volume is spread thin...................).

Just tossing out random ideas. Sounds cool to me.

I don't know much about tuning. But it sounds like a great idea.

Here's a question for those who know more. Is there enough crossover between our cars and Fox 5.0 Mustangs to have one tuning forum for both? Or should a tuning forum for SN-95 5.0's really be separate?

I think that would be a great idea. It does seem like there have been alot of tuning questions lately.

Maybe we could sucker Grady into writing up a Tweecer overview for a sticky?

This will be 94-95 specific but it doesn't matter who chimes in. Do we want it or not?

I think it is a great idea...

It should be in the 94-95 section for mostly 94-95 stuff as the eec is its own little red headed bastage of a ecu compared to the others. Things are just alittle diff. than the fox stuff.

Great place to dig up some old posts and put them combine them to a sticky to send searchers to quickly/er.

As an aside, if people want Grady to post up some stuff, someone should ask him how he feels about it. Being it that he has his own site and all, I would not assume he desires being saddled with more work.

On the other hand, I dont see any reason not to have a little section for this stuff.

I'll put as many old tuning posts in there as I can find. Just want to know if this information is usefull. I personally think its great and I've received a few PM's about this from other users.

Joe and all Members

In the past year, one would have to be blind not to notice more and more of the long time 94-95 members have gone to Self Tuning. Many of the newer members have jumped on board the Self Tuning Bandwagon as well.

I have been concerned that the increase of activity or interest in tuning related threads may be a bit much for some members who don't share that same interest.

To be honest about it, there was a while last year that I had more requests for help from various sites and it all became somewhat overwhelming and I kinda sorta got a bit burned out from it all.

I won't go into details but I made some adjustments which worked out OK for me and I feel the need to say something at this time.

I consider :SNSign: 94-95 forum to be MY SITE and its members are MY PEEPS who I have tried to give my first and best efforts. I've given WAY more of my time and effort in posts on our site than any other site and it was my choice to do that. Its all about the quality of peeps we got on OUR site.

Having said that ................

If I've been too zealous with my input about replying to tuning Questions to the point that our site may have suffered ..................

Well

That was not my intent at all

As for mixing 94-95 & Fox tuning stuff together.....................

IMHO, some of the Fox stuff can be misleading for us at best so one does have to be careful what kind of info one takes to heart, so to speak.

What ever the majority of the 94-95 members feel is best for our site

I guess I am OK with that

Grady

That's the beauty, you don't have too. Those tuning threads your seeing in Tech right would be in that forum. It would unclutter Tech and be placed into another forum so you don't have to see them.

Grady, your input has been great since you've been here. If we go to this forum I hope you spend some time there.

As for mixing us with FOX, this will be a 94-95 Specific forum. The FOX guys can post there. There are a few SN95's with FOX computers.

I dont know, it wont get as much traffic as the Tweecer boards and what not, and I think there will be a lack of Tech in there. We can always give it a try though, and I have a 27 page document filled with all the Tweecer stuff I have learned and found ever.

to me, that is the beast. what i mean is that i would end up not looking there regularly and i would miss stuff i could either learn from or i would not see threads that i could provide input on.

i'm sure you know i am a self tuner ...

i don't find the tuning threads to be clutter, and many times, people are trying to figure out a problem or something and a good bit of non-tuning tech is discussed.

is there is a concensus to move the tuning stuff into a sub-forum, then i will be 100% fine with it. like grady, SN is my #1 place and that isn't going to change.

peace

I think we should just leave the tuning threads in tech. There aren't enough of them to clutter really so I don't see a current problem. I think there won't be enough traffic in there unless our 94-95 specific and fox forum are linked to the same sub-forum. Then post those old tuning FAQ stickies in there. I think with it setup that way, it can be justified and very usefull.
