We all notice way more tuning/drivability issues lately...The IAC/TPS/MAF type of stuff seems to be more and more...Having a place to go directly for that type of info would be helpful to people to me..
I'm in the market for a TwEEC myself...I know that all the expiereince right here has swayed me to go that route versus a chip..Having that "tuning" section is something that would be great as we all know what its like to go to another forum where your the Noob and ask those kinda questions...Having something here with those basic programs to get you into it would be sweet and something I would personally love...I have taken trips to other sites and as others have mentioned to get a feel for self tuning, SN is where I call home and would prefer to deal with my "homies" over here any day of the week...My feelings are most of the info I have learned I obtained right in SN and the caliber of tech right here is as good as it gets...

To me the IAC/TFI stuff is more tune-up/diagnostics, help my car runs like ass kinda stuff and maybe that should stay tech???... Self tuning is another issue altogether....Do the two fit together???

No one thought the Talk section would get any traffic and look how thats doing....Its all goodness to me...I don't think you'll see a lack of traffic if you open up something....

I think it's a good idea. There's quite a bit of tech in the 94/95 section, and a lot of times the tuning threads get pushed to the bottom of the page because of all the gears/exhaust/tires questions, lol. I have a little bit of information I've found, and some I've figured out on my own that I could contribute. Of course, Grady would have to be moderator of that section.

RIO is thinking what I've been thinking. Everyone bitched about TALK but now it has over 40,000 threads. Not saying this sub forum will have that but it will give people the ability learn something.

I'm pretty sure the Corral has a tuning section. I can't get in there to check right now. Must be down again.

Just checked the Corral, they have an Engine Management section with 3 sub forums:

EEC Tech
Super Chips
Mega Squirt

I see a few usernames over there that post regularly over here.

Great idea....why not have one. I am very mechanically inclined, but don't know the first thing about tuning. It couldn't hurt . Nothing is better than having a question or problem and being able to solve it in a snap by coming here. I say go for it.

Another kinda related point...

Go to the eectuning forum that tweecer users use . That website IMHO along with the program EA has seemed to make the tweecer go to the next step of self tuning. Alot of things are/have been put down about the specs of the the 94-95 eec. There at any given time is ALOT of posts about j4j1/t4m0 setups and what have you.

IF that was here I dont think it would take anything away from that site but give just that much more info out there for the self tuner and that is never a bad thing.

When (I say this since I feel it will happen) the area opens I sug. that those of us do our own searches on sub. that we feel are imp. to dig the info that is already here up and then go threw those new posted searches and make a few focusd' FAQ stickies for the area.

every combo is diff. so a place to go and just have it there with not alot of fear of getting pushed down the page quickly. WIth that maybe the lead FAQ should be that thread that was started way back with vib. that had those REALY good startup pages in it.

Again, if we shared it with the fox people, it would be awsome. Make it so we can both see the link to the tuning forum in our own subforums. :SNSign:

Maybe I'm misunderstanding some of this (don't have a TwEECer yet, probably in a month or two), but wouldn't joining with the Fox range of EEC's be a bit confusing because of the different strategies that the EEC's use?

I don't actually know the answer to this, but I'm hoping someone will.

BTW, I'm all for a tuning sub-forum :SNSign:

I agree, the FOX computers are quite a bit different in how things are accomplished. Just look at the difference in how a/f ratios are calculated. Ours is load based, while theirs is mainly rpm based. Maybe we could have a Tuning forum, with the sub-forums being FOX, 94/95, something like that.

Honestly the FOX guys really don't require tuning like us. The A9L EEC adapts pretty well to mods. Only the guys with power adders or strokers have tuning devices in that group. I've mention to have a sub forum just for 94-95 but if the FOX guys want to chime in then so be it. We could use there help.

There are plenty of differences, but the basics are the same. When someone asks a question, there is still a good chance that they will know the answer. Look at the twecer oplink site. There's everything from Mustangs to Explorers, SHO's, F150's etc.

I made the suggestion to Mike just waiting on his response. If the Corral has one we need to have one too.

cuz thats an idea unless this is alread what you mean!?

but ya, i think it would be good!

The FOX computer is much different. The A9L tuning strategy is incompatable with the T4MO. I think having a 94-95 tuning section is a great idea! I think on some other sites this might now work but we have an active membership and I think it could be very beneficial. Besides, when my car gets into a mag I wanna write "self-tuned with help from Stangnet!"
