Ok my Nitto 555's are toast and I need a new set. I was just gonna get the same thing but my judgment got the better of me and I've decited to get some performance all-season. I need a set in 245/50-R16 so what do you guys suggest?
I have Sumutomos up front(I use to have them in back too) they are just as good,"if not better" in the wet and dry!!(Nittos) Snow,,,thats another matter. But I think all "all seasons" s@ck in the snow! ,,,,,,,Do you have mud flaps?
I am in the same boat and am looking at the Pirelli Pzero Nero M&S. They seem to have an excellent rating on tirerack and any other review board on the web, and the best dry traction for any all-season and almost all summer tires, not including drag radials.
I just bought BFG G-force KDWS's in that size out back, and 225/55's in the front. I like them alot! Good traction in my book, and not much highway noise (that I can hear besides the exhaust).
Im on my 2nd pair of Nittos,I have mud flaps, but the guy that put them on(previous owner) put them on to high, when I go through a puddle, the very back end of my 1/4 panel gets sprayed.I dont know about anyone else, but my Nittos pick up every little pebble and rock thats on the road, and the part of the 1/4 that is not pertected is getting sand blasted!! Really, took the paint rite off!!! I moved the flaps, but now I have to get that one part painted.Thats why I asked about the mud flaps.
I was thinking about the g-force. They are a $108 ea at TireRack and are suppose to be pretty sticky. They come on the 05 Mustang GT's I think? I just wish the Nitto 555's had a little more tread life or I would go with them again, they can hook something fierce on the right surface
