I have an 03' v6 & I just had to take it to the dealership because it just shut off and the theft light was blinking really fast and it would turn over but not start...the dealership told me it was the CCRM ( also known as the BCM or body control module) the dealership was gonna charge me $1000 to replace and reprogram the CCRM but if I took it and replaced the part myself and than brought it back for reprogramming they would charge me 100$ to reprogam it... Is there any possible way to reprogram it without taking it back to the dealership?

FWIIW, the 2004 (and older) model year CCRM does NOT require programming. On the other hand the GEM may require programming.

Just wondering. Did you do a through review of the battery and charging system? Because if you didn't did you know that a bad battery "could" cause your symptom as well.

Does the car start and run fine now? If so, there's further proof that the CCRM does not need to be re-programmed.

If it still does not start and run this could mean that the problem isn't a bad CCRM and more trouble shooting needed.

Note, at the time of writing this thread was sill in the 2005 area. It's unlikely that I will ever check and see any reply. Please use the other thread as I stand a better chance of seeing.
