just want to say hello guys & girls. it's a pleasure to be a part of stangnet. i'm 49 years old and have had a 01 mustang V-6 for 3 years. however, i just put a 04 GT engine in it with a T-56 tranny. i have P&P heads, JLT rai, mac LT's, mac prochamber, borla stingers, 8.8 rearend with 4:10 gears, and forged rods & pistons. CR is 8.8-1. i want to supercharge later on. could any of you guys tell me what HP i will have with the current setup? i was told that i'd barely be at stock levels with the CR at 8.8-1. thanks everyone.

well welcome to stangnet. as for your ?. i would have to say the loss of compression will hurt power but once you put the blower on and push boost throught that engine it will all make up for it. and a smile will appear on you r face. lol

thanks guys, its great to drive a V-8! i was just curious about the HP&TQ that i'll have until i get the blower. i spent quite a bit of money to make the transition so i might have to wait awhile. but i didnt think that small a drop in compression would make that much difference. i thought i might have 240-250 RWHP at least.

Welcome aboard.

Stock motors put down 225~235rwhp.With ported heads and the rest of the mods.I say at least in the low 260rwhp range. But you didnt say if it was tuned ,that can make at least a 10~20rwhp difference.

The compression may cost you 3~5 rwhp no biggie.Stock compression on the 99~00 was 9 to 1..So its not that far off. With a blower it will be able to make nice power safer.

Personally- i like 9.4 to 1 compression(maybe a tad higher) with a blower .

thanks! i think i am going to really enjoy my new mustang. i decided to get one back in 03 and got the V-6, but i soon discovered it didnt have that muscle car feel so i swapped a 4.6L in it. i really wanted to be able to enjoy a mustang now that my 2 kids have married and moved away before i get to old to get in and out of one! the guy that i got it from was 80 years old and only had it a short time before his back started to hurt getting in and out!

Welcome to SN. Did you find it cheaper to R&R the V6, tranny and rear than to sell it and get a comparable GT?

BTW: You should be at about 240-250rwhp I would guess. A nice fat Kenny Bell sitting on top of that engine will give you old time big-block fun. I'm 44 and I remember the late 60's cars very well.

Congrads.

probably gonna cost about 10g for everything. of course the T-56 was a bit more and i went ahead and had forged rods & pistons put in. kept the original crank. not really trying to get huge HP#'s. around 350-400 RWHP is fine for me. just want to show the ricers a little old fashion AMERICAN MUSCLE! i remember the 70's very well also!

Welcome! Another "older" guy... cool. I'm 46. You should have seen me two months ago when I had a hernia operation. I had to "crawl" out of the car onto the ground to get out of it... lol (My car's pretty low.)

Welcome aboard!! You should have about 245ish rwhp with your mods. The slightly lower compression shouldn't have much effect.
