I had the chance to run at atco tonight. Got six runs in, wasn't crowded at all.

Best time was also my first run:
RT .755
60' 2.19
1/4 14.81 @ 93

Oh well looks like its time for the 331.

yo dont get rid of the 302 just yet,,, you have a AOD you need gears to go fast, even if you drove this car everyday on the highway 456`s are fine with AOD cars, get that and a 2500 converter and your set, that with all the free HP stuff timing pullies off road h pipe and you going mid 13`s add nitrous and hello high 11`s if you motor is running dont get rid of it, these 5.0`s last forever trust me dotn pull it for a 331 youll be disappointed get a 347 the added stroke is well worth it.

I'm done with engine stuff, time to help the car. Stock 160K mile suspension and street tires. Maybe some drag radials. I found that I get the best time leaving off idle. Well, it came time to go and I punched it, then sat there. I had to let off to get going again. It was terrible, there was this piece of a 305 Firebird in the other lane. I ended up running 16.40 @ 92 The other guy got 15.11.

Do you realize that the OD on the T5 is the same ratio as the OD on the AOD? They're both 0.68, so how can 4.56 gears not be bad on the highway with an AOD.....it makes no difference.

Stock auto with only exhaust? That's not bad at all. It may not be the times that you are looking for, but it is respectable. I have seen a lot worse with more mods then what you have. I would get some gears and a shift kit, that will really wake up the car, and it will slam it into gears like you want it to.

No offence... Your reaction time needs a bit of improvement as well man. Throw some gears in her if you want to keep it simple. That will make a noticable time difference next time you go to the track. Go with some 3:73 if you want to keep good highway drivability.

I just got to the track so I was a little off. My other reaction times where .186, .647, .202, .258 I'm fast off the line.
The car is getting a 331 and a T56. The old 5.0 is going into my brothers ranger. In the meantime I'm glad I got out of the 15's.

EDIT: Hey I just realized this is in tech, I'd swear I put it in talk.

Some bananas will make it better.
