So I've finally decided to replace my Mac O/R H pipe (on the GT) with a UPR O/R X. I'm kind of excited to hear the difference. I'm tired of the "machine gunning" effect that I get with the H.

Do I have alot to look forward to as far as sound quality?

Anyway, just thought I'd share

Its still going to make that machine gunning noise, maybe even more as X's tend to be louder with less bass. I know exactly the noise you are talking about, I had the same effect with my O/R H and Magnapacks - I hated the sound and ended up swapping catbacks a week or so later. I went to a chambered setup, as the Packs (just like the Dynomax Race Bullets) are a straight-thru design. Thus the best mix with an O/R pipe is usually a chambered setup, unless its a Prochamber - I had that mixed with Packs as well and the sound was awesome.

I never had an X but based on what I have read and heard from other cars, you will still have the machine gunning effect unfortunately - time to get a new catback. But again it all depends on personal preference, you may like the sound.

You will still get the machine gun sound. I have it and it does suck. You need to get some cats to make it go away.
Good choice on the UPR X though. I have one and it is great quality and a great fit.

So I'll still get that noise huh? Bummer..
I just hope it will be a little bit higher pitched, and a little bit meaner sounding.

Sweet

I think I'm going to pick it up tomorow. That is, if the place has them in stock.

Crappy, imo, LM1s only sound good with stock H pipe. Any o/r pipe they sound horrible.

UPR o/r X FTW.

Have one with the Mac catback (chambered) and it sounds amazing. Its very smooth, and there isnt alot of X pipe popping that you associate with a chambered muffler.

I was thinking, Dre's mustang dress shop. I called them a while back, and they said that they carry "all UPR products"

It's over by Hobby, where Strictly Performance is..

They have a website? I've never heard of them How are the prices?

I know where Strictly is, though haven't been out that way in a while. I live out in the middle of nowhere man so I have no shops to purchase from or install parts for me. TSS will be installing my cams soon enough (picking up a brand new pair out of new heads for $100 Sunday) and hopefully that goes well.

You should come out to the track tonight. I feel like heading out there to get some "before" times. Let me know.

I dont think so. I got a card from them at a car show a long time ago, and it just has an email address on it.

Their prices are ok. I'd rather pay the extra $20-$30, and just go pick it up, rather than having it shipped to me.

Track tonight huh? I just might drive out there.

Bring the NPI.

You have mods + a 5 speed.
All I have is a sluggish automatic + weld in magnaflows with a catted h pipe that isn't even aftermarket.

Seriously though--come!

I'll see if I can. I'd really like to, because I have yet to run my car with any of the mods. Last time I ran it, it was bone stock, except for weld-in flows.

We're having an audit count on monday though. I could be here all night, and all weekend getting ready for it

You'll walk all over me. I'm just hoping to run 14.85s tonight since when I ran a 14.7 the weather was cold though I couldn't hook too well. I have new tires, though they aren't sticky by any means.

As long as your headers are heading right and your computer doesn't have a virus I believe you are ready to go

Now stop making excuses and be there. I'll be the young kid in a faded red mustang with black rims. Can't miss me.

I'll see if I can make it. I really want to.

I'll be the guy with a hairy chin in the green GT with black bullit wheels.
