Since we are on the subject, someone with an LX should put a '94-'98 Cobra front bumper on their car. I may be the only fox guy who thinks this, but I have always loved how the fog light holes stand forward. I think it looks aggressive, kinda in your face, but the roundness toward the bottom doesnt lend to a GT. @Boosted92LX ?
I dunno, man. I drove a 97 GT for about a year and a half, and I actually like the stock bumper on it better than that style cobra.. all the while my buddies were telling me to put the cobra bumper on it. I guess it looks to darth vaderish to me.
Its the shipping that kills you on the bumpers. Truck freight and a real PITA.
Found one on amazon...free shipping 175.00....fog light bezels 23.00 each...fog light pair 53.00. The expensive part ( that I don't have ) is the chin spoiler. That dang piece of plastic is around 400.00. That's why everyone uses the mach 1 chin spoiler or go ricer like me.
It's shameful...but I used garage door weatherstrip from Lowe's... I think it was 8 bucks, verses 400. Still looking for a real one though.

RTV,......HmmmThe black trim piece along the bottom needed some help. I started there tonight. Gave her a bath with dish soap after removing it from the bumper. You can see there was plenty of scraping, and a tear to begin with.
So far I have sanded 90% of the scrapes off by hand, and filled some deep scratches with black RTV. That should stick and remain nice and flexible. I also cleaned up the cut with a razor, and filled it on both sides with RTV while letting it sit in its natural resting position. We will see if that holds with a little twist test after it cures. If it stands up, then the whole thing will get a very light coat of rubberized undercoating that will serve as giving it a uniform texture, and then finally a coat or two SEM trim black paint.
Here is where it sits as of now, drying. The crack is toward the fore front of the picture, and the line you see that appears to be the crack, is actually a sanded edge of one side of the crack so that it is smooth to the touch after I apply the rubber undercoat.

Is Iowa that detached from reality that you've managed to miss the fact that paint wont stick to RTV?
Maybe you know something that I don't about using the undercoating over the top of that....I'm watching in earnest.
As for the rest of the bumper,..I'm glad you went that route, hopefully you can make it work..I think you should Leave the rest of the GT stuff on the sides to balance out the lower lines of that bumper though....w/o that, it looks way too nose heavy.
Ok Ok....Looks good to me.Well @madmike1157 , not sure what to tell you. I guess the rubberized undercoating doesnt care about no stinkin RTV, cause it covered fine.
Now if you look closely, there is a dark spot of fresh coating under the fog light on the right side of the last pic. I am trying to make that cut a little smoother over all. You could see it under the final coat. Im going to give it a couple extra layers there to see if it gets flatter overall. But I like the texture and finish, and the undercoat bends and flexes along with the piece, so it should hold up well enough if I decide to actually use it.
And moving on... Initial bumper cutting has commenced. I have left a lot of extra to begin with. I plan to test fit and cut as I go until I get it just the right length hanging under the trim of the existing bumper.
