I mean, what the hell Nick. It might run you a hundred for the powder coating. I'm always amazed at how totally nice sht turns out from powder coating.

I'm not taking away from Noobz idea, but oooooooohhhhhhhhhh the work involved there.

Polish is too much work for me. I vote to go with something that will look good but be low maintainance. Those qualities also apply to selecting a wife

Polished finishes are some times required to offset too much of one thing to balance things out.

BUT...

There's no way in hell I'd polish the tubular nightmare to that luster, then have to do that every time I wanted to open the hood....F that!

I am going to go with a metallic silver. Couldnt agree more about anything polished. Going to try my best to match the silver on the bottom half of my car to keep the engine tied to the exterior. I want to go about modifying this car toward an end goal.

To me: GT40 tubulars were ~~made~~ MADE to be polished.

My second favorite were a couple of ceramic/jet coated intakes that I saw but they pretty much make it necessary to flow port.

They have a "chrome" powder coating. It doesn't look as good as that example Noobz posted though. Maybe a happy medium to consider? I absolutely love that chrome look on that intake especially. But no f'ing way would I spend the time needed for that (I'm lazy).

Oh and btw the accufabs don't whistle(the ones I've seen at least).

I am even considering plasti dipping my chrome wheels with their metallic silver dip. Silver hides a lot more dirt and imperfections than chrome after a wash, and with wheels I feel like chrome doesnt allow you to really notice the shape/detail. Only reason I bought chrome is because they dont make them in silver.

Mild 408W, 5 speed cruiser. I would like to build it to handle decently on a road course, but the thing is, there are no tracks anywhere close. I do have a couple 1/4 mile strips near me, but have never once taken a car down one in my 33 years. So I just want a fun N/A street car. The way I see it, if I spend the money on hopping up my stock engine, why not just invest that money in more cubes. The SRT has taught me how much fun torque is. It will be a couple/few years until I can get to that point, but when I get the itch to buy a part, I will be considering my end goal. I know the GT40 tubular intake is not optimal, and that I will need a different lower, but I have always loved it and it will not hold me back that much in the end.
