Got to spend a little time sanding tonight. Have I ever mentioned how much I dislike body work? I managed to get the bumper sanded to the point that its ready for primer. Since I was covered in dust and ready for a shower, I decided to stick it out in the rain to wash its dust off. I would post a picture, but it keeps doing it sideways again. Hopefully tomorrow evening I can scrub it down properly, and maybe even shoot some adhesion promoter and primer.

It's not sideways,..It's upside down, and it's dark.
I think it'll look like it was supposed to be that way too,....especially when it's painted (painting will "tone down" obvious details)Thanks Dave. I considered doing a couple different things with the corners, but I feel that the protruding fog lights actually complete the look, and leaving it as is looks A-OK. The fog surrounds stick out just about perfectly flush with the front face of the fox trim. All in all, I am really excited with how it is coming along.
That actually came out damn good. I'm impressed. Are you installing the fog lamps as well?
If I add the black lower lip, not only will it not blend with anything else on the car, but it will hang lower than the sides of the car. I think I am going to trim off the mounts for it, and not use it.
No different than guys adding Mach 1 lips on 4eye and LX bumpers. Seems to work out ok. Possible to give it a shot?
I came home tonight and promptly stripped the tint off the front windows of the Charger after being pulled over this morning. Then after that task was finished, I got to sanding and spraying a second coat of primer on the '83 hood scoop. It looks good, so it is now ready for color. Problem is, I still need to order that paint.
After everyone was fed and cleaned up for the night, I got back out in the garage and sanded and sprayed a third and final coat of high build primer on the bumper. It still has a few imperfections, but as I was looking at it something hit me like a ton of bricks. I just got done telling another member here that I drive the **** out of my cars, and I do not like worrying about chips/scratches. So I've decided the bumper is good enough, and also ready for color. One day @Davedacarpainter will get the pleasure of fixing my car correctly and making it look fantastic, but for now, meh.
In other news, my tubular intake, lower GT40 intake, and throttle body spacer are still at the powder coater. What initially was supposed to take 3 to 5 days, is going on 2 weeks, 2 days. I called to check in, and was told all would be done by the time I got off work and came over. When I arrived, only the upper intake and spacer were done, and both were fish eyed and shtty looking. I quickly turned and said, "You've got to be shtting me?" The person working said, you will need to take up your concerns with Ashley, she is the one you dealing with your parts. Tomorrow Ashley and I are going to have a talk about how she has said they would be ready 4 different dates now, and how what is ready is completely unacceptable workmanship. If they refuse to redo everything, then I will be stuck paying someone else to strip their shtty powder coating off before it can be done correctly. That in turn, will have me setting fire to the building of the first person's business.
Good work is really hard to find these days. This shop came at a recommendation of a co-worker. I have since told him I would hate to see the girls he dates.
