Nick's "lvndpst" Restoration (and Slight Modification) Thread

This made me think of the guy in the first couple seasons of Fast N Loud who would always yell about rat turds. Working around the gas tank of the drift Fairmont, "Rat turds... Why does there always gotta be rat turds???"
Hummmm, I think I understand that one.....

Small progress tonight. Still need some sanding on those last minute PBA spots. Tomorrow I plan to paint the front bumper, and hopefully both sides of the car. Only the driver's side is sanded so far.

In the rear, I will be pulling the bumper cover as well as the metal bumper itself. I want to add one of those peices of foam that helps stop the sag, and get the metal bumper bar cleaned and painted. Then it can go back together and be painted with the rest of the silver around the car.

Annnddd,...You'll be painting it with what for paint?

Sorry Mikey, havent been on today. I only managed to get the driver's side painted today, and even that took a lot of do overs. The front bumper needed a lot more sanding on those PBA spots to look good, and I did at least get that done today as well. Tomorrow night I have to take a road trip to delivery one of my 2011 GT hoods that sold. Kid tossed in $50 for the delivery. So no painting tomorrow, but maybe Tuesday if the weather is nice.

Here is the driver's side (still wet).

I picked a duplicolor Ford "Silver Charcoal." Being that this does not have a clear coat (or gloss at all for that matter), I am not worried about what I am using. Hell, if it holds up good enough, I may just end up having the top part of the car painted by itself. Time will tell, but I liked how it laid down at least.

I know someone that I would love to bring to Iowa to paint my car, but unfortunately I would rather it be done in his work's shop with professional products. My car has a lot of dings that need fixed, and I dont want to do that stuff in my garage with auto parts store products. If I am going to paint the top half of the car, its going to be done right the first time.

Nah, been busy as hell with family stuff. I did get the bumper painted and assembled, but Im not really that happy with it. 1) Turns out Ford's "Charcoal Silver" is much more silver than charcoal. 2) I dont like the lower black lip, doesnt flow with the car. 3) I need a new steering rack, CC plates, and then an alignment, because the front wheels stick out at the top and ruin the overall look.

In these pics, I dont have all the fasteners in the lip, and the rear bumper isnt painted. Ran out of charcoal silver paint, and since I'll be doing it again with a darker silver, why bother finishing it.
