Nitrous install parts list

Ok guys I think this is everything I need for my 100 shot setup:

Nitrous Express power plate kit # 20946...$586
Nitrous Express GenX2 Kit...$390
NOS bottle opener #16058...$165
MSD window switch #8969...$99
NGK TR6 spark plugs # 4177...$19
Focus SVT fuel pump...$90

Grand total of $1,349.00 I'm ordering everything off of Summit Racing (except the fuel pump), so if you guys know of any better deals, please post links! Also let me know if I need any other parts for a safe install (I know I'll still need a dyno tune). Thanks!

Tanner you will be kicking some serious booty with a 100 shot of NX!
That sounds like a great parts list too.I have dealt with Summit Racing in
the past and they were awesome with great shipping time.
Remember that they will match or beat any lower price you can fined
from any reputable company.I would get the SVT Focus fuel pump from
Randy though because that is a great deal I wouldn't pass up lol.

One other question for ya...what should the spark plugs be gapped to?

I would consider a Zex kit. NX is good stuff but the Zex kit is safe, effective, a breeze to install, and is TPS operated. I have a remote opener and I wish that I hadn't bought it. Filling the bottle is a PITA. A 100 shot is nothing. A GENX2 kit is a waste I think. If you hate your money go ahead, otherwise give it a little more thought. Your selection of parts is fine but I think you could spend less and get the same results.

First of all the Nitrous Express system is rated at the rear wheels
and the Zex system isn't.I seen folks running a 100 shot of Zex and
only seeing about 60-70 rwhp.Everyone I KNOW running a 100 shot of Nitrous Express is seeing 100 rwhp from all the dyno sheets I have seen.
Plus you will get alot more torque with the Nitrous Express system than
the Zex it has been proven more times an I care to admit so, the NX system
makes more power than the ZEX system PERIOD. Also the Zex system
isn't fool proof either.I know people how have had issues with the "brain"
on the Zex system and folks how have had their cars stuck at wide open
throttle and wrecked their car's because of Zex.The GENX2 is not a waste
of money that is bs.With the Zex system you have to tap your intake tube.
With the NX system the nitrous is sprayed between the lower intake manifold
and the intake plenum and that's as good as it get's right next to a direct port system.You will not get the same results with as a NX system with a
Zex sorry YOUR DEAD WRONG.

NX all the way. also i think with a 2000 and using the window switch youll also have to get a rpm module thing to make it work. not sure but maybe someone will chime in about it. happy spraying

I'm not exactly sure how the window switch is installed but I do know what it does lol. What does the rpm module do?

I considered Zex but their horse power ratings are rated at the crank, not to the wheels, like Penny stated. Any nitrous kit can be "safe, effective, and a breeze to install" as long as you have the right safety parts, so I don't know how that argument helps you. And maybe you don't like your bottle opener, but I think it would be convenient to have one at the track. And how is the GENX2 kit a waste of money? It would be more expensive if I bought all of those items seperately. I need the blow down tube that comes in that kit for the track. The bottle heater is a must, as well as the fuel pressure gauge.

Yea but then I'd need the bottle heater, window switch, purge valve, blowndown tube, and all those other goods. It would be much more expensive. And plus I don't plan on spraying more than a 100 shot, so a direct port system would be a waste IMO.

I have already tried telling him in his Nitrous 4v thread. They are all the same to him. Obviously he doesnt realize the value of the GenX upgrade kit which is also required to run by most IHRA/NHRA tracks. In addition to keeping from blowing the intake as Nitrous tends to puddle and this will make the nitrous kit safer to run with. He doesnt care to keep the bottle heated for proper nitrous pressure, or if the fuel pressure drops the nitrous cuts off. I have no feelings for those that run nitrous when it blows and dont want to make it safe.

To the thread starter, you dont need a fuel pump. the NX kit with a 100 shot is safe on a stock tune and fuel. Just get the right plug(NGK TR6 gapped @ .035) I have seen 2V's go 100k+ on this setup.

I agree Blackfang I refuse to participate or share my knowledge in his thread
because he likes to share false info with people on this forum.I do realise
the importants of the NX GenX upgrade kit and it's well worth getting.Your
right some tracks won't let you run without it.Also it will help save your plastic intake manifold from blowing to little peices too.I have seen fuel puddling become a issue useing a 150hp wet shot and bigger.I think people how
don't use a bottle heater are completely retarded.Bottle pressure shouldn't
fall below 900 psi. and you will get the best hit around 1000 psi.
Adding a bigger fuel pump is added insurance and increases fuel flow
to the engine and to meet the increased fuel demends of running nitrous
on your car.Fuel starvation can/will cause your car to run lean and that is
the last thing you want when running nitrous.I highly recommend a 255 LPH,
SVT focus,or GT40 fuel pump with a 100 shot or bigger.Plugs should be gapped at .035 for best results I agree.I have seen modular 4.6L engines
last up to 200K on nitrous before needed a rebuild.

Yes I would rather install a better flowing fuel pump just for that extra insurance. It's only 100 dollars, and it will save me some time in the future if I decide to get a supercharger

I made a bracket to mount the switches on the side on the console, easy to reach with 5 points. I have the NX kit and love it. The purge switch was junk and only lased a couple weeks so I bought the NOS switch, I also have a NOS heater. Thats about what I spent for all my stuff. I mounted the arming switch on the plenum so its on at WOT, as long as the RPM is in the window switch range

I also made a bracket to mout the window switch on the core support

I also added a bottle blanket to mine to try to keep the heat in, up north
here by the final rounds it sometimes gets down to the high 40's.
I'm spraying 125 most of the time and 150 when I think its going to be close, but I have all forged internals in mine. I have the SVT pump but only because I have 24# injectors, needed them with the cams and head work I have done.
