nitto 275/40/17

will 275/40/17s fit my 89fox or will they rub the quad shocks my rims are cobra Rs

Depends, but most likely they will rub. My 275s rubbed the quads, so I took them out.

You can flip the quad shocks.

I ran 275/40s on cobras and they rubbed. Flipping the quads fixed it. Also I believe nittos run a bit narrow, so you MIGHT clear

My wheels would have contacted the quads, even flipped. My wheels are 17X9 with 6.1" back spacing.

This topic gets beat to death, but some guys get along fine without using quads, and some guys get hellacious wheel hop without quad shocks. It all comes down to your rear suspension and wheel/tire combo, though there is no exact fool-proof method. It's a gamble.

Ditch the quads, get LCA's buy your Nitto's and call it a day.

I have Cobra Rs with 275/40/17 Nitto 555 drag radials with my quad shock on and in the stock position with no rub at all, this is why i went with Nittos instead of Mickeys, Nittos in the same size are not as wide.

BFG's here I have a 1/4" spacer on all four corners. No problems.
