nitto nt555 drag radial

im geting 17x10.5s put and on the back of my stang and thinking about running the nitto nt555 dr 315/35/17 on them and i was curious if anyone out their could tell me how the traction of the drs hold up in rain because my car is a daily driver.

as long as you dont do driving that is TOO spirited in the rain you should be fine. i drive my DR's in the rain and its nothing i worry about. Watch out for some deep puddles which WILL make you hydroplane.

Be even more cautious as the tread wears down, it will get worse to drive in the rain, but you can handle it, you just have to pay close attention to the car.

how many miles do you normally get out of a pair of drag radials. I'm saying without powerbraking it every 2 mins and that. Just normal everyday hard driving

I replace mine about every 12-15 months but do alot of racing. I also don't replace them until I see metal, lol. Mine is also daily driven and I've been surprised that I've never had any scary moments in the rain. With this last pair I haven't dogged too bad and it looks like they will be lasting me longer than the norm

They hold up pretty good in the rain, unless you start to do some stupid things.
I love the look of the 315/35R17, probably after this pair worns out I will try some 335's on the back.

yes i will also address that any drag radial you buy does not have much tread to begin with. i have about 30+ passes on mine over a period of about half a year with the wear bars just now starting to emerge. im not changing it until they show metal too. It would be too expensive to change it once wear bars show.

Hey LS2 lets not jinx yourself. I am getting ready to slap on some nitto's 555 these 4:10's are killing me with the stock tires, exspecially in the rain. Although stock tires are fun to burn up!

how many miles do u normally get out of the your drs? i dont have gears yeti planning on 3.73 or 4.10s havent decided yet and i never race and just sometimes like from the light no all out racing out at the track or anything. i drive about 50 miles a day and i was just wondering about how many miles you get outta yours.

I'd say they can last anywhere from 12-20k miles. Its all gonna depend on how you drive. I race mine several times a week so mine aren't gonna last nearly as long as most people.

personally I am going to get a seperate set of rims to put my DR on for the track because they are just too expensive and wear out too fast. I dont really street race so there is no real reason to drive them on the street. But I must say I have no traction what so ever without them, with 410s, gutted trunk, brand new clutch, and some hard kumhos I just sit there as they go by.

The car came with 18k miles on it. I've got around 33k total now and they're pretty worn now. They looked virtually new when I got them. The mountain roads I live on are rough on tires.
