Should I be driving through the water with Nitto Drag Radials or go around it? I've heard both recommended. So before I waste another $31 at the track tomorrow I just wanted to give it one more try. Is it better to spin them at a high or low rpm? And for how long? I've been driving through the water then holding the throttle at just enough to get them spinning (about 2-2500) for about 6-8 sec.

Yes, get them wet before the burnout. Dry burnouts are stupid, plain and simple.

With 4.10s, you should be doing your burnout in second gear. Keep the rpm up above 4000 and hold it until you see smoke in the rear window.

don't roll your front tires through the water though, you'll just get the starting line wet. drive around and back onto the water.

I used to do that, until I started noticing all the fwd vehicles rolling through the water box and doing a crappy burnout. I just roll through it, do my burnout and roll out of the burntout till I hook. I clean up any water left by the fronts, and never had any problems with leaving water on the track.

I agree though, backing in is a better way to do it, but it bacame to much of a hastle for me, and I did not notice any difference. If you dont roll out of your burnout though, you may have different results.
