The “H” lifters are advertised to have a little higher rpm range so that was the reason for choosing them.

I've never did the valves adjustment that way. At this point I have all my valves adjusted to 3/4 turn preload for street application following the TDC/firing order method, have the valve covers bolted on. If the noise continues I will re-do them following the method you described.
Right now I'm just working on the fabrication of a catch can, I think the compressed air water separator was letting some oil flowing into the intake. Below is my custom made Oil catch can

The way I posted takes a little longer, but I can assure you they will all be correct...

Here is an update:
I completed the oil catch can and put everything back together, fired it up and guess what?... Quiet!!! No more ticking clacking noises. took it for a short ride and no abnormal noises.

After all I found out that a 1/4 to 1/2 tur of a turn of lifter preload will have that ticking/clacking noise. I went 3/4 of a turn and it is nice and quiet. I could try 5/8 of a turn (1/2 turn + 1/2 of 1/4) and probably it would be quiet too, but I decided to go to the top of the preload specification which is 0.020" to 0.060", and 3/4 of a turn gives me roughly 0.060".

So thank you all for taking the time asisting me with your ideas and suggestions. Feel free to keep this thread alive hopping it will help others with the same issues.

Thank you all
