Nope was not me.....

I almost said that in my post just to head off your completely pointless and totally predictable argument. The thread was about a GT, not a Cobra. Go slap some E7's and a stock GT intake on your Cobra and then see what you get at 6 psi.

I wouldn't trust a turbo guy who is telling you he is only running 6 psi.

And you are right the 2v stuff loves the boost. Just don't over rev them! On a side note... let me know if you see my missing piece of connecting rod on your next track day.

I'll tell you what fuzzychicken, show up at the heads-up race on the 16th at Woodburn and run your super-scooby in the Drag Radial class...I'm pretty sure the car I'm talking about will be more than willing to show you what's up.

but I'm sure we'll here the usual ricerific book of excuses, and find one missing flat four on race day ;)

I beleive Street tires are ok at Headsup too. You should take your VR4 there, and see how it does. I think Lucas is looking for some 4 and 6 cylinders to run against in the Import class, at least I think they still have an import class:shrug:

haha no thanks. i work with a couple guys that race. i know whats out there.

VR4 is just too heavy of a car to get off the line safely/quickly. average 60s are 1.6x-1.7x on a decent clutch. i believe i could run 1.5s with the mods sitting in my garage but i wont dare on the 6 speed and a full weight car.

1.6X 60' in that class would be very competitive, most of the cars are low to mid 11's with a few running high 10's.

thats doable. not with my current setup but what i have in the works for a track car would be somewhat competitive. trapped 131 in a friends full weight stealth before i bought the setup. too bad im not a big drag racer. im more into the turns.

I suppose I may have underestimated the VR4...but..99% of the turbo stangs out there ARE NOT a stock car with a turbo...I thought that most people out there understood that that would be my assumption but I guess on this site you have to spell out exactly what you mean for people otherwise they misunderstand you...I was saying a couple bolt ons on a vr4 would in my opinion not hold its own against a decent h/c/i turbo stang, tuned and ready to race...most people I thought in turbo form ran more than 10psi...and with a decent h/c/i setup and 10+ psi on a 5.0 should make some nice power...power I didn't think that v6 could handle without some turbo mods...

I believe "TheDavid" here on stangnet has a H/C/I turbo car that they had to turn down to 7-8 to keep it in the 450 rwhp range.

Also, MM&FF mag did a "Stock" turbo car that went 10.60's with a HP kit, 60-1, a trans brake, and some wornout slicks,... but that was a mag car...:flag:

my car is also known as being a freak of sorts to the 3000gt board. ill be the first to admit its faster than it should be based on its mods. maybe its the mileage...maybe something else. i dont know.

i tried searching for thedavid and found nothing. would like to see his mods.

Off topic... Will are you going to make it down to race with us this year?

Well there are 3 things that will probably prevent me from running in your program down there:

1. I only have 1 seat in the car at this time. (DR class need 2)
2. I now have a electronic boost controler in the car. (DR class is manual only in engine bay)
3. I live like 140 miles away from PIR one way, so there and back would be 280 miles round trip :( and gas is not cheap these days.

Most likely I will just be running the CCC and Test and Tune up here at Pacific Raceway, and Bremerton Raceway.
