I have stock pistons in my 1990 5.0 block and am thinking of changing my heads from Y303's to AFR 185'5 or 165's. Do you have to notch stock pistons to use the 185's? Which head would be best for my combo? I am open to other head suggestions. Would I experience much HP gain with this swap over my existing heads? Here is what my combo currently is.
E303 cam, Professional products intake, 75mm throttle body, 76 mm MAF with inlet tube, 1.7 rr, 24 lb injectors, the internals have been balanced, underdrive pulleys. It is in a 68 mustang convertible that is mostly weekend use. Nothing to extreme. I think I will add a Zex wet system in the future. I wuold like to stick with pedestal rockers since I have new 1.7's and don't want to invest in a stud setup. Thanks for the help.

Is that worth spending $1,400?
