I spent alot of time at the track last year, when I had, well what is written in my profile there for mods, and I had a hell of a time just to break into the 13's...my best last year was a 14 flat...mind you, the car had 153000km's on it and it needed some engine work, had some serious timing chain issues...
This year with cams (comp stage II) , rebuild, and a good tune I'm running solid 13.4's. Don't think I'm going to get much quicker.
It's one thing to say, "ya, that car should do low 13's" but heck, it's another to go ahead and do it.
There's alot going on in a couple seconds at the tree...lol Launch rpm's, staging lights, amber amber amber GREEN!
I race weekly and feel, and have been told, that I'm a half decent drag racer, there's definately work to do and you learn everytime. I data log every pass with my X2 and look at my shift points, launch rpm, and temperature. I also pay close attention to air pressure...
So anyway, all that to say, don't be discouraged, a 14 second pass is still a decent fast pass. Breaking 13's is a good feeling, breaking 13.5 is better, you'll get the bug, trust me...lol
The most important thing, is to have fun, thats what it's all for, don't let anyone, say blahblah this or blah blah that, it's your car, have a blast!
