need suggestions on a tried-n-true octane booster. I just got my computer reflashed and tuned from T&J and need to run 93 octane from now on due to the timing advance. Well, in my infinite wisdom, i filled the car's tank with 87 octane before sending the computer out for the reflash/tune and now have a nearly full tank of 87 octane gas to burn up. So, I need something that will bump the octane closer to 93 until I get the tank down to a half. I can start adding the 93 to the tank then. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Most of the commercial octane booster is just plain old Toulene, they just quadrouple the price and put it in a fancy can.

My Octane Booster Recipe:
1 Cup flour
1 package yeast
1/2 tsp. banking power
1/2 tsb. baking soda
pinch of salt
Mix Well
ohh Wait.. thats my recipe for bread.. sorry.. it should still work.. just pour it right in the tank.. However, once it starts to raise, you might need a funnel to shove it in there.
I'm Kidding.. Don't anyone do this..(I hope everyone is smarter than that.)

It takes a little over 1 gallon of octane to raise the octane level of 20 gallons of 87 octane gasoline to 93. I don't know what the actual octane rating of toluene is, but you are looking at a lot of octane booster to make up the difference.

Your right. Maybe .5 tenths to a $5 bottle of 105.
I put 1 gallon of Xylene in with 10 gallons and brought that f***** up to around 100 octane. I don't recomment doing this all the time. In the winter the gas is oxygenated so octane ratings will go down to save emissions. I used to do this in the winter once and a while. Worked great.

Two words, Toluene or Xylene. Both have an octane rating above 115. So in order to raise a full tank of 91 (all we have here) you would need a 10% mix or about 5L (a little more then a gallon). It is cheap, really cheap, most paint stores sell it for like $2 a gallon or so. A lot cheaper then the comercially available boosters, and it is the same thing.
Both are already present in pump gas. So it shouldn't harm anything. In fact from what I have read some countries have upto 50% toluene mix in the pump gas.
The other alternative is to use some Torco Excellerator. It is a racing fuel concentrate. I has the ability to make sosme really high octane numbers. It is quite a bit more expensive but comes out close to the same in the end. It is a little harder to find though.
