odd sound from S/C

ive got a 94 GT vortech sq trim and at idle it has and odd sound almost like a grinding sound but gone when you rev it up alittle. is it supposed to make a nouse such as this at idle? belt is not to tight either and its getting good supply of oil, sorry for no sound clips.

I've seen a quite a few people say their V1 makes a griding noise - here's a thread here... http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?t=699178&highlight=grinding+vortech

LOL and the fix for the noise is to run a smaller pulley.
