I've got a new to me Speedo that reads 0 miles and I want to set it to show the current mileage of the one I'm replacing. I need to add 22k + miles. My drill runs about 40 MPH. At that rate it would take nearly a month 27/7 to do it. Is there a way to take a shortcut? Please spare me the legal admonishments, I'll suffer the consequences. :D

You can take it apart.

Or there is always air tools....

Take it apart..............Doh! why didn't I think of that?

Thanks, that's what I did and it worked, eventually.
What a PITA getting all those dials reset and lined back up to install. All that and the new speedo still has a bounce. Time to have the original rebuilt $cha-ching$

Echo... echo.....

You did this before buying the new guages? Is the speedo gear in the tranny okay?

You betcha! I've done the due diligence. Replaced the cable while redoing the car, the gear looks fine. I'm going to have the original speedo reworked. The local experts say after 30+ years they tend to get sticky.
