Off all the mustang years, what made you decide to go sn95?

B/c of the 5.0, and I like the looks of the SN-95s.

when i bought my mustang, i wasnt even looking for a car at all. i was driving the work van one day and went past a used car lot and there sat a super sweet looking white gt that had 98 cobra wheels on it. it was all waxed up and it looked pretty hott. on my way back to the store i pulled in and took a gander. it was a 94 gt, white, all stock with the red cloth interior and a flowmaster catback. it also had an auto. just over 100,000 miles. it was one of the cleanest 94-95s ive seen. this is my first mustang and ive always liked that body style and the fact that it had a 5.0 in it made me want it even more. i went back later that afternoon and drove it. it felt good but i could tell that something was holding it back. i ended up trading my 94 tbird and payed 6500 for the car. as soon as i got it i did a full tune up and advanced the timing to 14 degrees. the thing holding it back was one of the cats were clogged. i put a bassani x pipe on the car shortly after i got it and it opened it up and gave it that distinctive 5.0 sound. i love that car, its been a super fun car to have and is really easy to work on.

My 95 was a b day gift

I was looking really hard for a ...........
pristine, very low milage, unmodded, 93 stick trans coupe

My long time gear head best friend was looking for my mom who gave
me the car in 97

As you can imagine ... finding a Fox coupe with those stipulations
was almost next to impossible

He knew better than to even think about the following:
anything not mint or with lots of miles
96 & up cause they got mod motors
anything with an aode
anything with mods
a heavy vert

Not long after I got my 95, I really saw the difference between how
the 94-95 was better built than the Fox ... no squeaks or rattles

btw ... His choice with my Stang was a wise one
and he is to this day ... Still ... my best friend

Soooo ... I guess you can say ... "I" did not decide upon my 95

- looks better than the 'new edge' (IMO of course)
- 5.0
- best bang for your buck that's not a camaro
- THIS FORUM. to tell you the truth there were several cars I was considering buying, including a nissan 300zx turbo, MR2, RX7 etc. Out of all of the different cars, this forum (94-95) was the most helpful, friendly, and tightest bunch of guys I came across.

So thanks to you guys.

I bought an SN95 for the newer styling, the 5.0, the nicer interior than the fox bodies, 5-lug 4-wheel disc brakes, and overall just newer car. I couldnt afford a 99+ and honestly, i like mine better anyway. Plus the 5.0 is a better motor for me cause its cheaper and easier to fix than a 4.6, and since i do all my own work and know a lot more about pushrod motors than mod motors, i figured this car would be a good match for me. I am never getting rid of it

Really like the body style and it has the 5.0. A plus is better brakes (disc all around), ride & interior. Getting the vert was a plus for me also.

I got into modding my 95 F-150 a little bit and I was gonna do an HCI on it. Then I decided that instead of putting my daily ride out of commission for a while, i'd just find a 351 block and build up a whole engine to get somebody to swap in. Then I got to thinking that it was kind of a waste to put a 408 into an F-150, so I started looking for cars that I could put the 408 into. Lurked on corral a lot and decided on a 94-95 since I liked the body style and it was the last years of the small block. Looked all over, found a 94-95 manual GT all the way in San Diego, and here I am.

I kinda got out of the car thing as with what I wanted to do and could do was just not the best thing to do on a HS students/soon college budget and need for good daily transport. I sold my 66 chevy and got a 93 nissan 2wd p/u and bought a dirtbike to replace the quad I had gotten rid of 2 yrs earlier.

Had a nasty bike accident that left me with 3 crushed vertabra that with ALOT of luck other than constant pain still can walk/run. Doctor said no riding of ANY kind for atleast 2yrs (I have basicly rode something since I was 6). I sold the truck and bike and had saved up another 2k cash and went looking for a 5.0.

I kinda liked the 96+ cobras and almost bought a white with tan leather cobra but as the sales man and I went to get the keys we found out it was sold, just earlier that day. The dealership had a 96 firebird and I sat in it as I kinda half arsed was interested...instantly knew I didnt want it over after seeing the int. of the cobra.

At that point I knew in the end I wanted a 5.0, a buddy had a couple of foxes but with the age and what I found most were beat on. I made up my mind to get a 94-95 and started looking. Took me 3mo looking at every autotrader, car ad, dealership in the local-ish tri state area (St. Louis, Western IL, and Northwestern KY) to find just a nice 5spd 5.0 that was a good all around deal.

Bought mine and put on a flowmaster catback and that was about it for 2-3yrs. Had the chance to travel across the nation and went back to finish college after that. I started really modding the car around the end of my Jr year of college.

64 1/2-70 = Too much money to get into a nice one and too much money to restore one I could afford. (My top pick for these years is: 65-66 Fastback, Wimbelton White, please. Second choice 69 Mach 1, Re or Black, please.)

71-73 = Too big, not sporty enough. I never liked these years, at all. They looked like Torino's. (No favorites, here.)

74-78 = Rebodied Pinto's are NOT Mustangs! (I guess the King Cobra was pretty cool.)

79-93 = Aforementioned creaks and rattles. Everybody has one. Most are beat on. Nice ones are few and far between. (88-93 5 speed Notch in Black, please.)

94-95 = Better build quality, 5.0 engine, awesome looks, etc. In my price range, at the time. (I would prefer a Black 5 speed Cobra, here!)

96-98 = Awesome looks, great engine, no torque. Just a bit out of my price range, at the time. (Again, Black Cobra.)

99+ = Well out of my price range, even now. (I really like the Bullitt. Highland Green w/ anthracite Bullitts, please. Yes, I LOVED the movie!)

I was actually looking at/for a Mazda 6. I was at the Mazda lot, looking at the "just off lease" stock. (Most were 1-2 years old w/ 10k-15k miles) I got out of the second one I drove and there was the 94 GT that I now own. I looked at it. It had 73k on the clock. I asked for the keys. The guy said, "That's a long stretch from a Mazda 6." Then I said, "But, it's a Mustang, maybe you just don't understand." He got the keys. I drove it. I had them knock it from $7999 (hahahahaha!) down to just a shade over $5000. There was absolutely NOTHING wrong with it. Been driving it, ever since. (92,xxx miles on the clock, now.) Never looking back!

I got mine with a mistake and by luck.

I totaled my low mileage escort zx2 and the insurance company gave me like $6100 for it. Then I went around to all the used car dealerships around town and the mustang caught my eye of course then I saw it was a GT, test drove it and said I want this car. This was before I learned all about the 5.0, Got the car for $5700 and with the left over money I put new rubbers all the way around.

The car I bought with 104k Miles, still looked like new, The interior was freakin mint, looked like it just rolled off the factory floor minus the one worn out drivers side floor mat. ANd she ran like a champ, later on I tore down the motor and rebuilt the topend and she was as clean as a whistle. So I found a good one by just some dumb luck.

I totaled my 92' GT a few years back and got $9500 from the insurance company (Had 40k miles on it at the time of accident). I couldn't afford a WS6 or a Camaro SS so I figured I'd take it up a notch with something a little nicer than my GT and get a Cobra. Man do I miss that GT though.

I had an 89 coupe and was kinda getting bored and having alot of issues with it at the time, and came across a 95 gt w/ 97k miles and grey leather in very fair condition for $1500...only draw back at the time was an AODE. So I sold my coupe for the price of the 95 and I was stupid for doing so because rear was built and had fresh tremec plus a few other things I should have kept, but since 5 speed swap in the 95 I'm really liking the car more. It ran quicker than my coupe at the track and it weights 200 pounds more and has less done, comfortable to drive and sit in, 5 lug, 4 wheel disk brakes, good looks, and like everybody said 5.0 still so I was kinda familiar with it. I still miss my old coupe and if the guy offered to trade me i'd have a hard time but i'm not sure which i like more between the two...so to say the least my love for the sn95 has grown.

I was specifically looking for a '94-'95 for the following reasons:
-5.0L
-5 lug wheels
-4 wheel disk

I had a bit of an unrealistic goal of finding an unmolested 5 speed. I ended up finding my '94 with 46K on it and it was stock from the air silencer to the tribars.

at the time i got the car, it was intended as a project car and not a daily driver. i wanted the body style because it was newer than a fox, in better shape than most, and the 5.0 was a definate bonus.

if it hadn't been for my brother-in-law, though, i would've let this one pass me by.

I was looking for a fox, and I had found one in Oklahoma that was going to make its way up to me, however the week before it was supposed to be delivered the oil pump took a **** and the car developed a knock. Well the guy did not feel right selling me the car with a bad engine for an even further reduced price. I kept looking for a fox when I found my car in the stangnet classifieds one day. The guy was an hour from my house so I told him that I was very interested for the price and would come take a look at it. I went down with my dad and long story short I couldn't beat the price and would never find a fox for the same price so the car came home with me and it will never leave....
