So I'm in California visiting my girlfriends mom, and grandparents and instead of renting a car my girlfriends mom made arrangments for us to take either her minivan or or boyfriend's Porshce. Well we got stuck driving the Porsche, but I'm not complaining.
It is really pretty driving to where the grandparents live which is a little north from San Fransico. I was just wondering if any of you guys had ever driven a 87 Porsche Carrera before. The steering is really tight and it takes quite a bit of effort to turn the wheel in the parking lot. On the highway the porsche is totally different. I don't know if I can explain it properly. It is like the steering is stiff but easy to turn. Like you are always at the center and it takes effort to move it away from that point. So, in a curve it takes effort to decrease or increase the radius of the turn. Very intresting and way different from my 73 stang. Is that how it is supposed to feel in one of these cars?
I like the Porsche but I don't think I'd trade my stang for one. The Porsche looks like it would be really hard to work on. Besides it seems to be a straight up race car and while fun to drive it is a bit of a stiff ride. To me the seats in the Porsche are also not that comfortable to sit in for more than about an hour. Like my stang it has a little road walk but unlike my stang which does that on all new suspension components, the Porsche is doing it with its original equipment with around 109 thousand miles on the parts. I guess I'll just have to live with it for the next few days.
