I know allot of people are getting into/are into drag racing, and tire selection is always hard. I thought it would be good to get tire/rim combos onto one thread, so people can look and see what others are running.
So, please post the following:

car with 347 will over power tires on a launch over 3000 rpm

Rear/Front brake type: Front=Granada/02 Mustang, Rear=Stock 95

Opinion on combination/tire: With 3.08 gear traction is not a problem. 1.60 best 60' on slicks, but expect better next time. When the N2O or turbo comes, I expect to need bigger tires.

Tub or mini tub: No
Rear end Diminsions: Standard 59' Ford small bearing
Rear/Front brake type: Front=Stock Mustang 4 piston Mustang, Rear=Stock 65' Mustang drums

Good DOT class tire for a standard transmission. Have seen a 1.66 60' with my 393. They really wrinkle up during launch. Likes 12-13 lbs of air pressure. Supposed to have decent wear too.

reviews.....
i have tried 275/50/15 Nitto drag radials, 275/50/15 BfG drag radials, and 26x10.5 et streets.

nittos- you can get 12000-15000miles everyday use and races, with pretty good traction.tire last me 1.5 years

BFG's- you can get 7000-9000miles of everyday use and races. tire last me .75 years

et streets- I've had 1 year and might last another 6-8 months but my 315/35/17 nitto drag radials have lasted almost 3 years but with only 15000miles and still have half tread on them.

best bang for the buck from what i've had are the nitto drag radials but nothing beats the et street for full traction at the track for a street legal tire.

Also in addition to the tire/rim/suspension questions, how do you guys keep from ripping apart rubber motor mounts (bolt through mount, anchor chain to frame, or belt to frame)? I never liked the look of the chain thing; will the bolt through the mount handle slicks?

Tire Size:26x11.5

Rear end Diminsions: 1/4in wider on each side. Will fit with stock rearend. Just wanted more clearance than 1/16
Tub or mini tub: no
Rear/Front brake type: Granada in front,stock 10x2.5 drums in rear

Opinion on combination/tire: Pulled 1.52 on these tiny tires with homemade caltracs at good tracks. Start burn out, and quit as soon as they started to smoke. Dead hook everytime.Lasted 3 years on just racing at tracks.

Yea I was debating whether or not to do that, but I figured this information is better together than on separate threads (this thought crossed my mind while reading the thread). I will start another if no one responds.

Opinion on combination/tire: 1.51 60ft

Fairly short burnout, tire pressure 12.5psi cold. Leaving on transbrake at 4200 rpm. Made a few changes that hopefully will drop me into the 1.4's but haven't been back out yet.

Caltracs, monoleafs, RanchoShocks on #6. Front was Summit 90/10's, 6 cylinder springs.

Rolled Fender: yes, but still only good for straight lines no turning or it rubs
Tub or mini tub: no
Rear end Diminsions: stock
Opinion on combination/tire: 1.753 60 ft 11.9 at 112.6 seems ok for 370 RWHP Smoke em till I see white in the mirrors and then drive it down the track...foot brake to 1800-2200 and I start pushing through the brakes.

Rear/Front brake type: Granada in front,stock 10x2.5 drums in rear

Throw another up here since I have changed a bit. 2 step to 3k w/ 11psi of boost. A little smoke in the tires, and 13.5 psi in the tires has cut a 1.48. Caltracs in the bottom hole, 90/10 Carreras up front with 6cyl springs, and summit adjustables out back. Going to try more boost at the line and move the instant center forward. See if they will still hook.

Opinion on combination/tire: With 3.08 gear traction is not a problem. 1.58 best 60'. Launch at 2300 rpm on 2 step with 3 lbs of boost. I like the DR's because now I have room for a generator and box fan in the back seat instead of slicks and jack.
