To be completely honest, 12 lbs is more than safe. I've seen 16 without issue on numerous cars. Worst case is blown head gaskets. Decent Felpros and 10-12 lbs of boost all day and never worry
Yep, I see 12 psi regularly, its tuned by the best so no worries. I had an 8" crank pulley standing by and had plans to pump it up to 15 psi. But,, when it dynoed at nearly 520 I figured I'd better stop right there.
That's already more powa than recommended on the old stock block.;)

Can you PM me a price for a suitable kit? I'd prefer to not tap my oil pan. What fuel pump and injectors do I need? I have a 255lph and 30# currently.

42 lb injectors and 255 pump will get it done no problem. When I get in Monday I'll shoot something over to you. V3 is self contained so no worries about the oil pan there
 
A million years ago, aka, back in the day... one of the rags (I think it was MMaFF, I know, rag story...) took a bone stock car, added a blower, intercooler the proper fuel system and cooling components and made 400rwhp on livable boost.
Did not pay a whole lot of attention to the article since I'm a n/a junkie, but always stuck in my mind.

Guess all I'm saying is that if a rag could do it 30 years ago, then with today's technology it should not be impossible to make 400rwhp reliably with a blower.

here's a question that may be a little more on the vain side:

can you get the tuner v3-si kit (i.e. no fuel stuff) in the black finish, or is it only available in the full system? @smkshw 's thread has me craving that setup. still on the fence on if i want to go that way or not, chances are then i'd be on the edge of needing roll protection/other saftey bs or risk getting thrown out on race days, which means a $3k blower ends up costing about 4-5k to actually run.

Agreed but sure would be fun to run fast enough to need the safety stuff lol.
