ohio state's Unstoppable

Wow, Im nut much of a football player but i could have thrown better than Troy Smith tonight, 4 for 14 gimme a break, that is no Heisman winner, Im from Ohio, a huige Buckeye fan, they CHOKED bad!

Well.... I'd like to use excuses like the ref's were on Florida's side. I only say this because I happen to notice them spotting Florida about a half a yard forward and spot OSU a half a yard back, not to mention the free touchdown. I also happen to notice that the obvious fouls the ref's looked right at for Florida weren't called while OSU's less obvious ones weren't overlooked by any means. I'd also like to not believe Troy Smith was "throwing" the game so he didn't look so good. The reason for that being so he could be drafted 3rd round by Cleveland and stay close to home. If he had had a good game? He wouldn't go to Detroit for the 1st round, but he probably would've went 2nd round.

But let's be honest here. OSU was off for 59 days, quite a while. But keeping with the whole honesty thing... it doesn't look like they prepared much if at all. Florida did their homework, apparently OSU didn't. Plain and simple, Florida played a better game and most people didn't expect this. Florida was in this game for a reason, it wasN'T luck, trust me. Now if it came down to just one more chance... I would like to believe OSU would take it. But looks like we might have to wait another 100 years for that to happen.:bang: :bang:

You may have a valid argument there and you put it very nicely. Florida in my opinion did NOT deserve to play for the National Title. But we all know the BCS is effed up and they certainly showed that they can play the game. Leak had the best game of his life and Ohio just could not get it going. That was not the same Florida team that played all season though.....they stepped up big last night.
I doubt Troy Smith threw the game to stay in Ohio

He wouldn't go to Detroit anyway. Brady Quinn and the LSU quarterback will go 1&2. I wouldn't put it past him to throw it for $$ though. He did get in trouble for taking money earlier in his college career.

Yes there were some obvious calls that were horrible. Just like the big 2 mentioned. But, thats the game of football. Bad calls are gonna happen. Nothing you can do about it.

What about Bobby Petrino leaving Louisville and heading to the Atlanta Falcons.

true, florida did get a free touchdown - but take that free touchdown away and they still won. I do agree that florida didnt deserve to play in the championship and the BCS is f-ed up, but with all the negativity on florida, they seem to have fed off that. And the opening drive touchdown was just fuel to the fire. Kudo's to florida for an outstanding performance against an extremely powerful ohio state. In a strange way it was kinda cool to watch leak run that offence. i love games when one team is just all on the same page playing great football. Me im a Rutgers/west virgina fan :D

My point exactly.

Take that free touchdown away and you take away momentum. I doubt you agree but from what I could tell, is that this whole season OSU fed off the the energy around them. If there's a lot of positive energy, it's their game. The crowd died early in the game and so did OSU. Put the crowd back in the equation ( ie The Wolverine game ) and OSU can stop anybody.

If I were King of the World.... OSU would be the champs.

No i agree with you momentum could or would have been changed. I cant remember tho, when they got that TD that is in question, was that 3rd down or was it 2nd? if they took the TD back would they have a chance to do it again? i believe it was 3rd down

Give me a break... Is it lost on everyone that if they had NOT given Florida that "free" touchdown, they would have had the ball on the 6 inch line, with an offensive line that was flattening Ohio's D-line like frogs on a rainy road?

Quit with the "IF" pouty-party.

"IF" the refs had their glasses on from the get-go, Ginn's touchdown would have been called back due to that obvious jersey-tug on Nelson.

"IF" your "momentum" notion was worth its weight, didn't Ohio State have momentum in spades following that Ginn run-back?

And lastly, "IF" your team is championship caliber, shouldn't you be able to suck it up and push the momentum back to your favor?

Momentum is nothing more than who's playing the best at a given time... Ohio State had about 14 seconds worth of it. It's nobody's fault but theirs that they never got any more of it...

Ohio State already got humiliated on the field, don't humiliate them further on the internet with crying about refs and momentum. They were held to what, 84 yards of total offense?? Hell, take a half dozen of your "ifs", and another half dozen favorable ref calls, and tack them onto your 84 yards, and tell me if that would have turned the game into a win for Ohio State... It wasn't close, on the lines, or in the secondary. Not close. No calls, momentum, nothing could tilt those scales enough to change that...
