Redline 20w50 racing and K&N oil filter, no problems so far. One complaint though $65 oil changes.

Troy- all i ever ran in my car before the heads and cam swap was the mobil 1 0W30 oil, but when I did the cam swap everyone told me to run something thicker so I switched to 5W30. At the time my valves were not adjusted correctly and I had excessive noise so I switched to 20W50, and then back to 10W30 as the heavier weight oil made no difference. Do you have a lot of lifter noise with the 0 weight oil? I only have about 15psi of oil pressure now at idle when the car is warm with the 10W30 so I'm afraid to run anything thinner, but I'd like to gain a few HP by running the 0 weight stuff again.

First off K&N, Motorcraft,Fram,Wix and in fact almost all oil filters are made by the same company! CHAMPION they just put the correct label on them. They are all the same but just different grades of filter ie: good, better, best. I will try and post a link to a tech sheet that explaines it all. Or do a seardh for The Great Oil Debate.

As far as oil goes you first need to know what oil was used in the car Synthetic or refined petroleum 10w40
If it had synthetic than use a synthetic.
But never use a synthetic if your car has over 75,000 miles and has been using refined petroleum 10W 40 the seals will shrink and you will get oil leaks.

K&N HP-3001 w/ Chevron Supreme 10w-30... that filter's really proven itself to me... accidentally misread my little book, and went 4K miles, oil was still golden! (although, that's probably also means I have a good/clean engine )

Personally I swear by Valvoline oils and have always used Fram filters since I've had cars go 200k + miles with no issues what so ever. I'll continue to use Valvoline oils but I'll probably use a different filter in my new motor though as the frams aren't of the best design. Here is a link to a pretty good filter comparison.

I only use Mobil 1 oil and filter in my car. I have heard that LAMBORGHINI and Porsche only allow you to use your warrenty if you put mobil 1 oil and filter on your car. so that has to mean something good about that oil.
