Hey guys i was just wondering what type and weight oil is best with a new motor. Im going to break it in with conventional 10w-40 castrol cause i can get cases for dirt cheap....but i think i wanna switch over to a blend, which brand and weight would you recommend. Street driven car with ocasional trips to the strip...thanks in advance. Oh yea....what tranny fuild works best also...thanks

I would be running something thinner in a new mill, unless you specifically had it built loose.

Redline D4 works well in the T5, if desiring a synthetic.

Good luck.

Broke the cam in with 30 wieght, then got the ring seat and broke in with 20W-50 conventinal. And now am currently running 15W-40 Royal Purple synthic. But I am think about going back to the 20W-50,as the oil pressure (I dont run an oil cooler),was stabile even if the car got up in the temps a little.Once warmed up,the 15W-40 syn. has bout 25-30psi,while the 20W-50 has about 30-40psi for idel and the 20W-50 stays right at about 60psi after 2000 or so rpm's.
