Wow Mav, no offence but that Et bites. You've got really low 13's and even 12's MPH. You are going to have to sort out that suspension and get some traction. What are you running for tires? If I was you, I'd be shopping for some Et streets. Why waste all that HP for such lousy ET's.

Dman, I'll definately say hi when I see you. Hopefully you'll get lots of chances to see me in the bracket class. The car is running really consistent so far (made 14 passes at St Thomas in June and they were all within .02 of eachother. Bracket beast all day long. Hopefully I can get this install done this weekend and do some tuning. And I never noticed your tire size before. Like was mentioned, 17's are not the optimum size sidewall for drag racing but as long as you're having fun, who cares.

That estimate is flywheel HP, not RWHP.

As for the car handling like a boat without a front swaybar (sorry, not ripping or pointing people out, just using the phrase as an example), this is actually not true at all. It will definately not handle as tight as it used to, and it'll be a LOT different to drive, but it's by far not as dangerous as people make it out to be. I've owned, driven and know more people than i can count on both hands who own and DD their Mustangs without front sway bars, as my best friend does it and crazy enough, his car handles better without it than it did with it. (i've gotta add, that if you're running 90/10 strut/shock combos with drag launch springs, your car will probably ride more like a BATTLESHIP than a boat...with or without the swaybar)

Secondly, the quads should be able to go. I'm not real familiar with MAC control arms or how effective they are at eliminating wheel hop, so after you take them off if you have time you might want to take the car out for some pounding on and see if the rear end hooks nice and firm without the axle hopping....if not, you might want to leave the quads on. Unless you're running really wide tires, they're not really hurting you any.

Third, the spring isolators. I'm guessing that the replacement would come from removal of the springs to install the control arms right? The problem here is, if you havent installed new springs all around, but you DO replace the isolator, i'm betting that your rear end is going to sit a little higher than the front, because the isolators in the front and back wear out evenly with eachother, and unless you put new isolators all around, it'll make things uneven. Although, if your GT has that classic "GT butt sag" as i like to call it, where the back of the car sits lower than the front (i'm guessing because of the quarter glass/hatch weight...no idea) then installing the new isolators might level it out some. You listed new springs in your mod list, so if you put them in front and back, i'd go with new isolators all around. Energy Suspension make a nice set of urathane isolators.

Lastly, i honestly couldnt tell you much about ET with that stuff, i'm more of a carb guesser than EFI guesser, but my first thought was that you'll need practice on your launches with the new DRs if you've never raced with them, at least in order to see your best ET.


And as for the 12 second remarks, well i have a friend who's running in the 12.80s/90s with 17 inch Bullets on his car, WITH the swaybar installed, WITH street tires on the back, and his mods are not much more than yours, although you didnt list any aftermarket heads, and he's running GT40Ps. The trick is to not get over excited on your launch, and drive the ass off it. His 60s are right in or around 2.00, but his MPH shows that the car has the potential to run even faster if he had a drag specific suspension/wheel setup.

My timing is out of whack actually. When my base timing is at 12* my total timing is at 40*....which is not right at all. I'm going to be getting a different distributor soon, so that'll solve that problem. I got 4 runs in but they all sucked mainly because I was being to tame off the line.....I'm afraid to break my weak ass transmission, haha.
