Ok.........Seriously!

GOD...all this v-tec crap...my buddy has an s2000, and you cant even tell when it hits v-tec, its just a little noise you hear. I felt no power gain when he hit it. It takes a while for it to get out of the hole. They tach out at 9 grand, and if he even wants a chance at you he is going to have to get near about 7 or 8, by that time, your already pulling on him. V-tec is just about useless in the lower gears, so hes not going to have an advantage in the quarter mile. Get a good start off the line and you will have him. Go take a few practice launches somewhere.

just run em....thats all the proof he will need. I also have a hard time believing you ran a 13.2 with stock HCI and stock susp and tires. Not to be a dick...but thats a quick time for those mods. What was your MPH?

my thoughts exactly. you mentioned the guy who sold you the car told u he ran that. its possible he pulled your chain.

if the heads and intake are really ported good and etc it may be capable of 13.2 but i dont see it at all with street tires and stock suspension.

thats why I said I believe is is gonna lose. Mods didnt equate to the "claimed" times. Everyone thinks their car is gonna run faster than it ever does. The s2000's are nothing to sneeze at. Over 200 N/A hp from a 4 cylinder. Which is MORE than a stock 5.0 can do.

he is going to DESTROY that s2000. Speaking from experience, ive ran into 3 S2000 in the last 2 weeks and it never was pretty. First one was on trip from a buddies house on I-10, yellow S2k, rims, exhaust from what i saw maybe more. I float by him at 60mph he drops a gear and goes, i hit third even it out, start walking HARD in 4th. Was surprised, figured if the s2k has an advantage anywhere its from a highway roll. Next up was a blue one on the way home from school i had one passenger as did he, i pull up on him and immeadiatly see a SAFC controller on his dash. ****, maybe hes boosted:( oh well drop it in third, and wait for him to hit it(i have no horn), this was from a 45-50 roll all the way till i hit 5th. prob me by a good 3-4 cars, maybe he let off dont know. Last one was my neighbor, i had been shooting the **** with him telling him about the kills and he tells me he has just picked up a new S2k. what a coincidence. he tells me i must of beaten the older ones and tells me his has a bigger motor and a little bit more torque:shrug: We run from a dig twice, and it wasnt even remotely close. Then again hes had the car for a week or 2 so i doubt he drove it to its potential. Regardless, i figure my car to be a flat 14 sec car at best trapping 98-100, so you should have NO PROBS.

I'm pretty sure he's not going to drive all the way to Gateway just to embarass himself.:D However, we do plan on taking it from a dead stop and then jumping on the highway to punch it from 70mph. I think he will have had enough at that point. :p

he should have got a miata with a 5.0 CAMMER swap if he wanted a 1/4 mile monster (with a purse looking car)...

I had a friend with a modded vtec. We went for a drive on the highway I watched him revv his little hamsters past 10,000... nothing real impressive, imo. Those things don't even have enough torque to pin a flea to the seat. But I give kudos to S2000 owners, AT LEAST IT HAS THE RIGHT WHEEL DRIVE!

I think people under estimate the S2000. My friend has a 2002 S2000 bone stock car. I have seen this car beat cars with much more HP than he has(240 factory hp) but maybe these people couldnt drive. I have run him myself. When we go from a dig he has no chance at all, I jump out 3-4 cars before the top of second and he cant catch up. Now from a roll its a different story. I can pull him from a 1st gear roll but from 2nd gear we are dead even until around 95-100 and then I slowly inch up on him and pulll maybe a fender and then we shut down. So dont get to over confident, it really depends on what kind of race he wants, if you agree to run him from say a 40 roll then be ready for a good race.

Here is a vid of me running my friends S2000 from a 35 roll. Its dead even most of the race. Im running all motor, no nitrous.

Like I said, I haven't ran the car at the track so I personally don't have any proof of the 13.2, but I CAN tell you the guy I bought the car from seemed very smart and didn't come off as a bull*****ter at all.

At the same time, the car ran good when I bought it, but since then I have it running even BETTER. It runs very very strong let's just keep it at that.

By the way, I ordered the last piece of my intake puzzle yesterday. It just so happens to be a 75mm Pro-M mass air flow. If I replace my stock 56mm MAF with the bigger Pro-M will I notice any significant gains?

in the upper I guess???

The S2000's seem to trap in the 100mph range, pretty good just the same. I didn't think they'd be that high (according to dragtimes.com anyway)...

If you guys remember my old car, the RoofStrype car (89 GT)... It just ran a 8.4 in the 1/8on stock tires and the guy grenaded the axle on the next run...

I would safely say that your car will run mid to high 13's no problem on a cool night. However, I bet the previous owner had slicks to get a low 13. I think you'll take that little econo box toy.

I think he was on drag radials. Anyway, he did it with a stock intake (K&N filter).

On a good cold night, with an iced down intake and barely any gas in the car I can definately see that happen.

Wax em then come back and tell us about it. But remember, if you spin off the line... Poof! He'll get you.
