Who has done this and how? I'm not looking to fully cut the collector off and weld a new one on. I was hoping i'd be able to use a sawzall or something and cut it open a bit more to 3" or close to 3". I'll be using a vrx 3" X pipe also for bbk longtubes.

Do the rods look purty? :D

I did sell my old 1 5/8" bbk longtubes. I was planning on buying 1 3/4" bbk longtubes and opening up the collector.

What affordable header do you recommend for me besides mac? The bassani sh it is expensive and its not offered in a full 1 3/4". Wouldn't the 1 5/8"-1 3/4" stepped header hurt me a tad? Looks like I have another decision ahead of me :(

Rods sure are purdy...lol

In expensive is hard for a 3" collector unless you go MAC, Check out JettHot they sell soem headers private labeled. not sure if they have them or not.

Bassani is $$$ but the stainless will last forever, something to think about with the elements on the East coast. I like the steps Perky ran the 1.75"-1.875" on his old 306, ran great.

Mike, keep checking out the classifieds, especially the NMRA boards. I picked up a set of brand new coated 1 7/8 kooks for 550. Then i traded them off for a set of used
1 3/4-1-7/8 stepped stainless Bassanis and cash.

The deals are out there if you look for them.
