Opinion on heads...........

Ok guys...

I am seriously thinking about a set of heads...

I have a 289 bored .030, very mild cam, FPP high rise aluminum intake & holley 80457 carb (both waiting to be installed).

It is a C4 auto.

I am looking for a set of heads to wakr the engine up a little...

AFR's are not really what I am after, besides money could be better spent elsewhere...

I am leaning toword Aluminum heads...

but what are your opinions...

What are the price ranges I should look at???

E7 heads?? how much$$$
d8oe heads??? how much $$$
y303 heads??? $$$??
gt40x???

My thought is you'd get a better audience for those part numbers in the 5.0 forum, problem is sometimes they are a little involved in a soap opera of some kind and may not notice.

A set of GT40 heads will surely outflow your stockers, a little work on them and they'll flow pretty well considering their valve size. Of course for the money to get the "work" done you'd be buying the Edelbrocks or TFS heads and getting close to AFR territory. I think the aluminum GT40s are a good choice and meet your citeria of "waking her up a little".
