Opinions for rear gears with a T5

You definatly need to know what your gear ratios are in your t-5. If you have a 3.35 1st you won't be there long with 4.11s. I have a 2.95 first and I don't even stay in first long with 4.11s.

Also 180 OUT I don't see to many people with the one listed as aftermarket on that list. Most of the ones are the 0.63 aftermarket ones unless they actually need that 5th gear for racing.

Honestly I think you'll either have to find somepeople with diffrent gears and maybe swap them out, as diffrent engine combos will feel diffrent with them. Or just read up on how do change gears yourself till you find one you like, or get some spare chunks and find the one you like and sell the rest. I still have a spare chunk with 3.25s sitting in the garage...if I ever break mine lol.

347 stroker, 4.11s and a Tremec TKO and I'm sick of 4.11s. Just don't need that much gear with a stroker... My old 302 loved the gear.
Time for some 3.50s and let the stroke take over :Damnit:

Dont forget this is a 3 part equation.
Tranny gear ratio (1st and final gear are important)
rear gear ratio
and tire size.

I have a doug nash 5 speed with 3.28 first gear and 1:1 5th gear
I run a 25.7 tire, and 3.00:1 gears in the rear.

I can barley use 1st gear , if I give more than 1/2 throttle , im spinnin tires
and in 5th gear at 75mph im near 3000rpm.

my combo is equivilent to a toploader with a 4.25 rear end gear.

Im about to step down to a 2.5 rear gear
this will bring my rpms to 2400 at 75mph, and I should still have plenty of off the line go with my 498lbs of TQ.

After my swap It should be equivilent to a Toploader with 3.25 gears out back? and use 5th gear almost like an overdrive.

Lots of good info on 5speedtransmission.com (I think)
