Opinions on these heads and cam advice

j/k try and find some gt40's then the p heads are a pita about the plug angle I KNOW lol but the regular gt40's arnt that bad at all!!! gt40's/fcam/yer intake and other bs and it should rip!!!

I already finalized the deal pretty much. I am rolling down to summit this Friday to pick up some HGs and a cam. Decisions, decisions...

It will pull like a bitch and hell no I won't be in the 14s lol

You got a running vehicle yet? I need to get a new phone.

I have no vehicle, im getting a NICE car not a heap of **** that I have to restore only to fix it more, blah blah, hell no!!! we have one here locally that has 35k on it (87 gt original owner) and he wants 5k for it, perfect!!! and one im looking at 89 gt with 57k on it and he wants 3.5K for it, the miles are verified!! the 87, is perfect it even has an old school fosgate system in it when he bought it new lol, its like going back in time, ill prolly either get one of the 2, then the mods will hit it hard, like h/c/i the next weekend, I have all but the heads (undecided) and then gears and sfc's and then LARGE brakes, I dont want to hit anybody again lol

oh yeah keiths pos cranked right up after the wreck!!! mine wouldnt even turn over cuz my trans is locked, and broke and leaking........... well i guess i put a strong engine together, those heads make that thing scream!!!

Suggesting gt40 irons or P's instead of the set of heads he's considering is pointless. They all fall into the same catergory as the ones he's looking at. And dumping money in P's is also sensless from a financial standpoint.
Beast if you want these, get them, not my cup of tea but that's me. But don't consider not getting them to get any iron gt40 head.
And i'm not buying that a stock explorer motor with a cam made 290rwhp.

do you even have any clue whatsoever with anything dealing with anything that is not priming over rust???

yeah that's exactly what i did primed over rust...again..moron..do you know anything about body work..just because there was surface rust there dont mean a thing..as long as you grind it down to bare metal you will be fine..tell ya what..you paypal me 500 bucks and ill go out and buy what i need to paint the thing Friday..? got a deal? .do i need to say it again... im doing everything on my car expect the top..what did you do sent it off to have someone else do body work and paint....

so who is doing the H/C for you?

then dont...the exact number are...

here is the quote from my localish mustang site.

after curt (12seclx) ran that 12.13 at 110.6 mph, i would go to the junk yard and pull a mountaineer motor ... stick a mustang cam in there ... then go to craig and dyno tune it ... 292 rwhp and 332 rwtq is sick for that combo ...

Our explorer type motor made 288/325 with stock injectors, out Flowmasters and in a 3000 lb 3.55 geared fox ran 12.17 @ 110...

Same motor with some 24 lbers, in a better chassis with 4.30s went 7.481 @ 90 in the 1/8th (11.70 @ 113 or so in the 1/4) shifting 4th about 100 feet out of the 1/8th trap.

GT40P motors will run HARD!

Alright listen up ryan. Stop posting in my threads if all you want to do is bring up the same old **** and repeat what other ppl said. I got my car fixed professionally b/c it was paid for by HIS insurance. I wasn't gonna worth risking MY NICE ASS CAR(not some old heap I found rusting) to shoddy body work done by a noob, aka me. It was paid for... why the hell not. I do all of my own mechanical work... EVERYTHING. I swapped the clutch, did gears, rebuilt the rear end, intake manifold, on top of the fact that I have rebuilt 3 351w's for friends cars. If you never post a reply to any of my stuff again it will be too soon.

So please leave it alone so I can get the advice I need, not some 15 yr olds opinion from what he has read on the web.

so do you all still call BS? all it takes is a good driver and combo that works with each other to the parts full potential...

hmm...do we need to revert back to the first page??? your the one who started the whole thing with primer over the rust!... click page 1 scroll up...and read what you posted...and no im not talking about when you got backed into..im talking about when the car was first painted.

do you fell better about yourself knowing that you slapped a intake on your stang?, threw and new clutch in your car?..out off all the things you have done the only thing i have never tried is gears...and why because i don't have the toll needed...

take it to PM's if you like from this point on.

Actually I feel much better never talking to you again. When you are ready to race, run what ya brung style at any track I'll be there in a nice car ready to smoke your ass. But until then I prefer just to click on your name and press the Ignore User button so I never have to deal with your lame ass advice, your BS track times, or your burnouts in front of your house ever again...

Just go with the combo, it will run good. I'm not sure how the f cam is in n/a combos, but it is a nasty boost cam. You might be better off with the tfs 1 for a mild all motor combo. I know you will be running nitrous, but you won't be using it all the time, and I would be more worried about the car making good power off the bottle than the tiny bit it would gain with a different cam on the bottle.

I like the TFS1 too. From my local forums I was suggested this cam http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=CCA-35-312-8&autoview=sku

It seems to fit the bill kind of. A little high on the lift, but it will pull all the way to 6k better than the TFS would. I have to decide by friday, its when I am picking it up along with the heads. Then I guess I'll start the swap over Christmas break.

Hopefully it will be a strong combo. Also in the distant future it would be a good turbo cam.

Yeah I wish I had the money for trickflows but for now this should be a strong combo. I am buying a lunati 51014, everyone on SCF seems to believe that will be an awesome cam for my combo. If not I can sell it and buy a TFS1, I'm sure there won't be any problems though.

BTW the magnaflows sound SICK!!!

The reason I would use the trickflow over the lunati is a money thing. They are very similar cams but the trickflow costs half as much. For the price of the lunati you would be much better off getting a custom cam imo.
