While car was at the bodyshop(its story on its own, and we are not going to get in to that here), I got this bright idea to replace my dual MTX Thunder 6000 10" with something more custom. So my buddy who works at local audio shop, and i dicided to make copy of JL undio and MTX Thunderform for my car, because i didn't wanted to pay whatever those thing are going for($400+ i'm assuming?)

So we got mockup off of my car(to get the shape of bottom), and took pic of JL and MTX, and started to make it out of fiberglass.

So after 3 weeks or so messing with it, making it smooth over and over, we got whats in pic. Never mind the color. I still need to finish carpetting

Well, screw up #1 is not very easily spottable
We forgot to make it with speaker wire terminal on it:nonono:
Which is i guess is no biggie. I'll drill hole somewhere so that i can put terminal onit.

Second issue is rather serious.
See the pic below

Now, i just have to figure out how am i gonna make it to stay there....

Oh and buy some Sub... We designed it so that internal volume is 1 cubinc feet - Both MTX and JL is slightly less then 1 cubic feet. something like 0.98 or something like that.

What is good sub thats designed for small sealed enclosure and 2ohm DVC that can handle 600watts(using MTX Class D mono sub amp that can go down to 1ohm stable)?

I'm no audio expert, but that thing looks awfully bumpy on the inside to sound good. Shouldn't the inside be smooth to prevent distortion, etc?

this is true if its a ported box. But since i'm doing sealed box, it really don't matter. Plus all the bumps are at least smooth.

Plus I used fiberglass to get basic shape out of it, and then i used Urethan to build it up. Its almost impossible to fix it(or sand it to shape).

i think i'm going to modifiy it bit tho. Back when I was in stereo, almost all 10" sub required 0.9~1.0 cube-feet. But these days, almost all 10" needs something like 0.6 cube-feet. So more then likely i need to build up inside so that i get 0.6 to 0.7.

And i got to find some carpetting for it too

i painted mine instead of messing with carpet. i did a base coat of black then that speckle paint they sell at home depot over the black and it matches up pretty good

yep its the RF

mine came with a long bolt and theres a threaded spot on the bottom of the box. if you look where the box sits when installed right under that threaded spot is a rubber plug. remove or cut slits in the plug and insert the long bolt up through the bottom of the car into the threaded part of the box
