Outside Mirrors

Does anyone agree that the new Mustang's outside mirrors give you a good view behind, but look horrible? Clunky is how i describe them. I know there are mirror covers in chrome or paintable, but why cover a ugly design? Anyone seen a more retro looking design? I think round chrome would look much better. Who cares if it's not power activated. Any thoughts? Thanx Aimee

When I was driving Fox Bodys I was continually cussing their tiny mirrors.

I drive about 100 miles a day (@ >80MPH) and I
need those big mirrors to keep an eye out for this.

This is why I bought the prepainted mirror covers. They definitely look alot better. But I agree with the other posts. It's definitely better too big, than too small, for usability purposes. I'd think about the mirror covers. They really break up with color and make them blend better with the car.

I don't have a problem with our mirrors. I have had an '85 GT, a '97 and a 2000 GT- the mirrors on my '06 are light years ahead of what Ford offered before. I, for one would never give up the power adjustment. Just my opinion, but I like mine.

it would be a PITA to try to crawl over the console to adjust the passenger side mirror.....

You can get replacement mirrors (electric or manual) from 50resto.com

They are made by Cal-Vu. The mirrors are smaller, more rounded off and I believe the electric ones sell for $159 for the pair. They do have to be painted and clearcoated.

No Issues Here. The mirrors are the right size and don't look out-of-place at all to me. They could have always been worse. I think that they are a Great Improvement from the previous models. IMO

I think they are a little big, seem likes they would fit better on a F150 They probably did it because of the bigger blind spot created with smaller quarter windows. Makes sense from a safety standpoint.

Those Calvu mirrors look like stock ones with covers to round them out. Even the foose mustangs have stock mirrors!

I'd like to see a slightly smaller mirror in an M3 ish style.... <holds breath>
