Ovaltech's new project car

Well we just picked up a new shop project car and we can't figure out what to do with it. It was bought to be the new NMRA Pure Street car but I don't want to tear apart the 90. So now I am stuck with a clean 2001 Mineral Gray GT that we are thinking of turning into a NMRA True Street terror. I am torn between a killer 420 Windsor nitrous combo or a Blowthrough 2V with a D1SC on it. We want the car to run low 9's be streetable and just plain look killer so shoot me your ideas we are open for suggestions.

i would have to vote for the 420ci windsor with nitrous...nothing like the big cubes.

How much cash we talking?

Hmm,early 460 BB with dish psitons,get around 8.5:1 with a all forged bottom end (maybe a stroker - 514),hydrualic roller cam,aluminum cobra jet heads,EFI and a ProCharger F1 blower.

That ought to do nicely

If not then the 420 on juice (fogger) but its gunna be a beast to drive if you get a big thumpity solid roller,depends on your attitude I wouldnt mind it,but some people need something more tame.If you do go the 420 route lemme know I can tell you what works and what doesnt.

No this is gonna be my shop beast so were going all out just trying to see what everyones feelin to give me a shove one way or the other. I have carbed pushrod cars already I was kinda feelin the carbed mod motor route though

Ahh,well in that case...your local track go a stock suspension/drag radial type class?

Build the biggest,nastiest,big block you can (a Chevy would be cheaper) and throw three stages of nitrous on it (90* fogger stagered to short wall,a straight fogger stagered to long wall,and a plate preferably cross-bar style).PG w/ 1.80 1st backing it,and mini tub the car to take 325/50 or 315/60 DR's.

Atleast thats what Id do,and push 5.0x's in the 1/8,maybe break into a 4.9x

Has anyone seen a 6.8 triton in a mustang yet? I know canton makes a mustang swap pan. That would be super unique and a good way to show off for your shop.

some blower cams
p51 or similar intake
forged crank/rods/pistons
and a nice big turbo
