I've got a traditional push-rod head spring tool and it doesn't reach down far enough to compress the overhead cam springs of my 4.6 dohc. Any suggestions on what tool to use/buy? Thanks.

Nice! Thanks..........a little pricey though.........any other thoughts?

It's about the only proper tool unless you want to make your own out of ball bearings, gauze and 3-in-1 oil.

Actually, you can make a tool with pipe stock and a washer and some creative welding. If you're not willing to make a tool and are not willing to buy a tool, you might check to see if a local auto parts store has a tool rental program. Or maybe a nearby Stanger or Stang shop can hook you up.

That's going to be about your only choice. It's a special tool that OTC makes for Ford. With the tool it's still a two person job. One person holding the valve spring down and another one installing the keepers. Have fun I used to hate swapping out 32 valve springs on the cobra's!!
