My friend has a 96 GT and is in the process of doing a PI head and cam swap from a 02 Salleen. He has upgraded to comp cams XE-270ah cams and comp beehive valve springs. He was wondering if anybody else here has done this swap with this cam set up. Is there any chance of piston to valve clearance problems. Any info will be helpfull. thanks

yes if the cams are not degreed in properly its a good chance he will have a PTV issue. Lots of problems with those cams on NPI shortblock/pistons. Thats why i went with the 262ah's...i would have loved to have the 270's but didn't want the headache.

Ha ha, I've got the 278xe's going on my motor:hail2: . It has forged pistons stage2 PI heads and the comp valve springs. Everything will be checked and double checked, and yea triple checked  before it is buttoned up. My car is not a daily driver so I decided to go with the 278's they KICK ASS and nobody else has them around here, come to think of it I have never seen another car with them. I guess they are just to radical for the average stanger, hopeing for 300 or more at the wheels with the total package with all my current boltons, and that is everything I can think of. I have a few dyno sheets with these cams and stock and worked heads and they are killer in the upper rpm band and not too bad below 3000, with my 2800 stall I think I will be all smiles.:D
