I have heard it takes a little time for the guys at AFM to get back/takes a bit of calling to get ahold of them....but once you do they take great care of you.

Keep us posted on how it works out for you...I know you moved from a tweecer to the PMS. I love my tweecer but am always wanting to know more about what is out there...and people dont seem to post much about it as far as getting deep into tuning with it.

Sounds good. I love my PMS. Its SOO EASY to use. WHat model do u have? I have the pre04 and i dont know if they have the "lock" feature.

They do have the passcode feature. I think its in the set up menu but I forget. I didn't use the passcode.

The 04 version isnt that different as far as the tunes go. Just all the extra features i think.

I would give you my tune for my 351 in my 95. But 1, my car is in pieces and i never wrote the tune down. And 2, my maf was a POS and would probably be wayyy off anyway.

Whats it not doing? Not idling? Have you postedon stangtuning.com? Look in the programs section, i can almost guarantee there is a tune in there.

This should get you in the ballpark. I know it will be different between a fox and a 94-95 but i think it should atleast get you close.

Well Mike(grn92lx) asked about having to "re-do" his tune if he upgraded to a 04 and Troy said that he wouldnt have to. Obviously there are more data points but i think if you just hit the points you need for the older PMS, that the PMS should handle the inbetween and have it close to the 04 tune, but probably not exact.

Joe just hit the anchor points...2200, 4000, 6000, 7800. Try playing with the unit some more this weekend if you are still having some problems then monday afternoon you can give me a call at the shop and I can work with you over the phone.

Basically (without a wideband), you want the 02 readings and swing from R and L back and forth in an even fashion. This means you are close to stoichmetric...aka 14.7:1 which you want at Idle and Part Throttle. The stock EEC settings should be able to handle the part throttle stuff. I would mainly focus on Idle and WOT. I don't know how radical your cam is so you might need to do some work on the low rpm part throttle stuff. We can go by the O2 readings at WOT as well to get a good baseline. Also be sure to use the same settings that you have in WOT in the High Load tables just incase of a small TPS problem. Also be sure your Idle adjustments are made when the motor is up to operating temp.

Describe what its doing exactly. Idles for 30 seconds, surges and dies? Have you played with idle control? What are the o2's saying?

I know how u feel, but once u get the hang of it, things will click and you'll be tuning with your eyes closed.

You want the o2's to be switching back and forth from "R" to "L" or rich to lean back and forth continuously. This shows you are at or around the 14.7:1 ratio thats wanted. This rule applies to cruising also. You can also change menus to get to the actual #'s for each o2 and it should go from high(80-90) to low (0-10).


So if its surging try to see what the o2's are saying. At this point, you wont hurt anything by adding a ton of fuel...or by taking away a ton. I used to do that in the beginning just to try to get an idea of what the car wants. I want to say that surging = a rich condition...but im not sure.
