I'm starting to look for quotes on my 90 hatch for fresh paint..so far:

$800 prof. done if I do ALL the prep work

$600 if a "friend" does it

$450 if a "friend of a friend" does it LOL

I have access to a room & guns etc. but don't know if I'm brave enough to try it, very little hands on experience. I'm changing from that faded burnt/baked/orange reddish 5 mins. shy of a 3rd degree burn color to Milano red (yes its a honda color, flame away) and i don't plan on spraying engine bay etc. until i'm out of college.

thanks in advance.

well if u dont have expirince, then i would be afraid to do it. plus u will be nervous and more prone to screwing up, i also have acces to boothe and paint guns and stuff, but im too scared to mess it up. lol, im gonna pay about 1000, to have mine done , reall good work to, and thats wih a lil body work,

i would do it myself if i had access. and be sure to put enough clear for buffing since most mistakes can be taken out with buffing. make sure you dont have clear running into the floor it makes for a mess. take your time the main thing is mixing the paint right so it cures at the right time but not too early.good luck:nice: :D

hmmm i may end up trying this myself......i just hate wet sanding, lol.

where would you guys get paint supplies?? i can go through nason at work but they are kinda difficult to order from being out of state.....also some of our PB customers at work don't really care for their quality.

Go over to autobody 101, there is bunch of good info on there... Just do a search, all the shops I went to when I wanted to have my hood painted would not warranty their paint job if I did the prep.

It could end up costing more if you do the prep yourself, rather than having them do it.
