Not sure if anyone else out there has the headache of picking a paint color like me, and not sure what color you want. Sure its easy to walk into a dealer and you only have 6 colors to pick from on newer models, but when you go to paint your Mustang and every color is available - it can be overwhelming, especially when you are not sure if the color will look good on your car since nobody out there has your car with the color you want on it. Granted these sites dont show your car per say, but you can at least get a better idea of colors out there instead of standing at your local paint store flipping through a book all day long.
Note, HOK does have a program you can buy and for $49 you can choose one car in their inventory and then see it in any color they have, but you only get one car. For more cars, you pay more. Just an option for you guys with money to burn.

Here are some sites with paint chips that you can enlarge and save.

I thought that too, two and a half years ago. Now im closer to paint (just a few more rust spots) and I have changed my mind yet again.
Was originally going with a 2007 Tungeston Grey and dark charcoal stripes. But after having the paint card on hand and not the car for that period of time seems to have changed my opinion. Of course all my friends and family have a color they like, but I still cannot seem to narrow it down to one, Im down to about 4 colors at this point. A dark metallic red, Kona blue, some shade of gun metal gray or the platinum metallic tricoat I have seen at Ford dealerships on the SUV's and trucks.
Im not going for any stripes, but its still a headache picking one cause I have no idea how it will really look on the car till I have it shot. Then its a done deal, like it or shell out for another paint job.

Anyone out there know of any programs by chance that dont require 50 bucks to get and dont take as long as messing around in MS paint to get a rough visual of the car/ color?

I would get to know a paint guy before you get your heart set on any color, there are some color combos that will not work, some reds will turn pink when next to other colors, some blues turn green or purple when placed next to other colors. Some look great in low light but loose their appeal in the sunlight. Having a good paint man talk with you on your color choices will help you from spending a lot of $$$ on a bad paint job. Besides that it's a great way to get to know what you need to do to get the car as prepped as possible for paint(the more you can do the less you have to pay them to do!) and you can see the quality of work that they do so your not just dropping the car off and the nearest collision place for a paint job!

i totally agree with you guys... it sucks... i finally just picked one and ordered my paint..lol.. hope i dont regret it later... Gonna be painting my car next week..
